Ghost

On seeing that white creature, I sped up my car to the max to reach my home. I stumbled as soon as I entered my home.

Wife: What happened dear?

I breathed heavily and said, “I saw a ghost near the rooster”

Wife: OMG, What are you saying? Is it true?

I am serious dear, come I will show you. I took her in the car to the same place and showed the white creature.

Wife: Is this ghost? Is this? It is a boogieman idiot, the keep it until house warming ceremony.

Me: Boogieman?

She started laughing at me…

Back to School

Thanks Jingle, for Tagging me to such a sweet tag. Check out my memories...

What was your favorite back to school item to buy?
I love compass, as I started learning to sketch with it (Geometry Box)...

What was your favorite subject in school?
Mathematics and English

Did you ride the bus or get a ride from Mom/Carpool?
I love the bus ride from my home to my school, very funny, most of the times in footboards, love those beautiful experiences and missing those...

Do you have a sack lunch or cafeteria food?
I always love to eat Mom’s food, so will bring them to school...

What is your favorite memory from your school days?
I love this question a lot, as I have many untold stories attached to my heart. Even today, I go for a bike ride to my school, to recall those sweet memories. To say in Tamil, “என் வாழ்க்கையின் பொற்காலம்” One of the sweetest, “When I was in 12th standard, I broke a tube light in my class accidentally and followed it with very sweet things, even in my slam book this was penned down by all my friends. I still cherish those sweet moments”

I tag the following five friends:

I am not sure about the rules, but I love you to pass this "Back To School Game" tag to minimum of five of your blogging friends.. Please let me know once the tag is done so that I will enjoy those sweet memories...

Happy Weekend !!!

Sweetened Waters

Abstained from the fear of heavy love,

I prayed God for the real courage!

Realized that you were my real self

I came to my love by myself!

Sensed the halo future in your eyes,

I dissolved in the love within us!

North or South, East or West,

I say our love is the Sweetest!

Tasted the sweetest sweet in you, and

I emptied the butterflies from my stomach!

Sweetened soul watered with the heavy love,

I treasured these moments as, “Sweetened Waters

Friendship

"Friendship is not Hi bye, life" - Six Word Saturday

Wow! What a day it was”, It taught me what is life, I mean Friendship. Just 8 hours ago I, Adithi, Rachana and Rahul, the fabulous four idiots started to our favourite place. We visit this place atleast once in a month to enjoy and share our thoughts. But today we had a different experience and I decided to pen down it as Friendship.

Me: Hey guys, be careful as these are slippery mountain areas.

Adithi: Please clutch your hands with the one next to you.

Let’s enjoy this trip to the max as we had never enjoyed before. Wooooh... Ahhhh............. Friends..... Forever.............., I was shouting like anything and so the rest; we were enjoying the climate and the beauty of nature. God is the Real Nature Admirer because he created it with beauty and risk in equal proportion.

Rahul: Hey guys this is a dangerous place so be careful.

Me: Hah stop you stupid guy; always you are worried about life. See, life is an interesting game, so enjoy the next second with zillions of smiles and billions of risk. “Life is so little done, so much to do”, so enjoy each and every moment of it.

Rahul sounded angrily, “Ok Hero, Let’s carry on”...

But in seconds I slipped, shouted, “Hey... Hey... Hey..... Guys...” and rolled with Adithi as we both had our hands clutched. I was pensive, didn’t react any but rolled with her and almost reached the edge of the mountain. Thank God, Adithi held a half cut tree’s root in one hand and in the other I was hanging. Those moments were very crucial as it was between life and death. In about ten minutes Rachana and Rahul came with the rope and helped us to reach a safe place nearby. We hugged each other thanked God as we escaped with little wounds.

Rachana: Wow! What a beautiful place is this?

Rahul: Let me add some more treasures...

Me: You are mad, super mad...

Rahul once again sounded angrily, “Am I?” God created nature for us to admire and enjoy the beauty, See how beautiful the Nature is, a bridge with some missing steps with an unknown destiny, reflections of the trees, shrubs and the mountain, these are priceless man, and you can’t buy these with money. I know you love it but just for teasing me don’t sound stupid…

Me: Just kidding dear, let’s click and enjoy…

We all danced, shouted and enjoyed a memorable one… Almost an hour done, we enjoyed but we never know the way to get back to parking places. Somehow we managed to get back to the car.

Rahul: Wow, what a beautiful experience?

Rachana: We enjoyed a lot guys, super nature

Adithi: A wonderful experience

I just kept quiet knowing that they are waiting for my word. I started the car, accelerated, paused for some time and said, “I learnt what life is, I mean Friendship – Life Long Friendship”. I would say, “Friendship is not Hi bye, life

So little done, so much to do

He: I am very upset dear.

She: I could feel that from your grimace. See, Life is an interesting game in which you learn something new in various phases. Even if you stumble, make sure that the next step is your best. Be pensive; never expect too much. As life is a ladder with few steps missing and you never know when you will reach your destiny, work hard to touch them.

He: Hmmm

She: “Life is so little done, so much to do”, think and act.

He: Thank you so much dear as you always inspire me. Love you.

“A picture is worth a thousand words”

It was love at first sight

Friend: Still dreaming about those eyes?

Me: Yes, how I can forget those beautiful eyes.

I was wondering why guys fall in love with girls. However, today I found out the secret answer. I was not an exception to say I hate those eyes. Rather I would say that, “It was love at first sight”.

A Journey In Words - Review by Leo

A journey in words can go a long way. Engrossed in words, the journey may go for eons, yet we may feel like it has only been a few minutes. It may be a marathon, a hurdle race of millions of meters, yet at the end, if we ever reach it, it may feel like we’ve been traveling only a few miles. Today, I review the blog of a friend, my co-host here at Review Tuesdays, Someone is Special aka SiS. He’s called his blog Few Miles, and we’ll travel some few miles with him here today.

Saravana Kumar, writing under the pen name of SiS began his writing journey with a poem titled “Sorry” but he’s continued to pen down poems and stories which need no apologies. He’s woken up angels in his dreams, and the blog’s poems, he says, are inspired by the dream girl. Given his pen name by his sweet friend, he continues to use the name and with the words he pens, he tries to cross the many hurdles and critics to remain focused as a writer with myriad thoughts in his mind.

image courtesy : Leo @Jingle Poetry

The blog Few Miles’ template has been edited by him, a simple look with a mix of orange, blue and the main background of white. The blog header has a logo “FM” that is also the Faison of the blog. The blog has a single sidebar to the right, and the sidebar houses a large assortment of widgets; from twitter contact buttons, to the award badges he’s won on various platforms, from archives and favorite posts, to the recent comments list and category cloud. The blog has, so far, got visits from more than a hundred different countries since beginning in October 2009, and has 242 posts to-date.

SiS is not a “particular” writer; in the sense, he doesn’t prefer a particular form, or genre for that matter. He writes what comes to his mind at that time, or depending on if a meme inspires him. If he feels unable to write, he’s willing to take breaks to refresh his muse. SiS likes to write for contests, be it poetry or prose and experiments with the same. His themes vary from causes to nature, but most of his readers would recognize that the theme that dominates the others is romance. He is a self confessed “romancer” and his stories have that emotional pull to it. Quite a few of his posts also revolve around cricket so I think he is a great follower of the sport as well. SiS writes regularly for memes, and is also the host of a meme called Room for Romance, a monthly meme with themes based on his favorite emotion.

Being a regular writer, his frequency of posting is high, and though is he is talented to hold the quality, depending on the frame of mind he is in; his posts do have a tendency to waver on that front. A positive point about SiS is that he takes critique well and works on his posts to get better as he writes. I’ve been reading him for a while now, and I’d say I have a lot of favorites from his posts to list out here. If any of you are very much addicted to romance in reading, I’d say his blog would be a drug to you. On a personal note, I’d very much say him to work on his determination, as I’ve known him to think of quitting when results are not going his way.

As a reader, I think the first thing I’d look at in a blog is the post. As a writer, I feel that I would also want my reader to read the post. In your blog, I find the sidebar assortment of widgets to be overwhelming. When the badges of winning entries you have had in competitions is present directly, the reader would be distracted to reading that instead (though it being there as a celebration of your success is quite understandable). If possible, try to declutch it somehow. Explore more themes other than romance in your long stories. Look to better yourself each time. I think you are good already, but still aim for the perfection that is elusive. A writer’s journey is always toward perfection, hence the reason for it being an endless one. Other than that, I’m quite happy as a reader to visit the blog. Keep going!

Glad to review your blog, and let me know how you found it, if you’ve found me wavering on some point. Cheers and have a lovely week ahead

The Amateur Poet,

Last Few Words

It never occurred to me that even last few words(just like the last good bye) could do wonders until that day. It all began when i came across the most shocking and eventful website, popularly known as the Orkut. As usual i was searching for some girl from my rezendevous days and i was comforted with the most sweetest Hi from a stranger. At first it appeared to me as if someone is trying to break my comfort zone and i replied with all attitude and ego to expect the same from that stranger. I talked to her ("her" because the status in the orkut profile said "female") for about 5 eventful minutes and we said adios to each other and with no promise as such of talking to each other again.

Few days passed and i had totally forgotten the conversation, but suddenly i found her display picture been displayed in recent visitors which again aroused a sensation in my mind to talk to her again. And it happened but not so soon. It was late in the night, i was watching some stupid movie and decided to surf the internet for a while and i caught her online. This time we talked for about half an hour, both full of attitude and ego and not revealing each other's name. It looked as if i am a kid again.

After few days of chatting with her, she revealed that she is in the same coaching institute as i am. A current ran across my body, which made me go into nostalgia and made me search the entire classroom virtually for a girl who showing some kind of interest in me. We kept on chatting without even exchanging phone numbers for about 5 straight months.....amazing huhh!!

She always maintained a habit of leaving a clue for me to guess who she was, but to no avail, i acted as a dumb box. Finally on the birthday i heard the most enchanting voice of my life and that was her.....and this time she revealed her name....Vashu( as her friends call her). Still she maintained a safe distance from me and never revealed her face. We made a habit of talking to each other over the phone for time immemorial. I slept with her voice and woke up with her voice.......like some bollywood flick....but nothing in common with the same.

After few months of madness and unconditional search I somehow managed to get her glimpse. At first she looked horrifying, just like some Jail in-charge. ( I know many of you would have thought it would go like the Indian Movies, girl as beautiful as no one has ever seen blah blah but it was nothing of that sort). She was sweet in her own ways. Finally I met her on 19th August, 2007 and that day changed everything for me. I bunked college to meet her, missed the get together, just to spent few moments with her until the day she revealed she has boyfriend and she is into relationship for more than 2 years now. This statement would have made any guy leave the girl there itself but something in her told me to stay. And as a kind hearted, sweet and a nerd guy like me stayed patiently.

With many ups and downs our story continued (Yes OUR story…. With no indication from her still I called her my girl). We studied together (to be exact tried to study), ate, go for a walk holding hands. It was all going well until one day when I met her other friends, who somehow revealed the actual intentions of her boyfriend, which as a stupid fool nerd I poked to her that too at 2 in the night. She cried like The Niagara Falls all night. I felt terrible pain which I was not supposed to feel, I should have been happy but it was the other way round. My inner voice told me that I have committed the biggest mistake of my life; I have come in between a committed pair. I have broken the law of nature, nerd are supposed to be nerds.

Next day changed the course of my entire life, I got a message from her that she no longer wants to be friends with me and I should never try to contact her. It went through my heart like a sharp arrow, touching every part of it. I tried to reach her, I called her sister, her roommate, her friends, but what I got was her boyfriend’s voice, requesting me not to contact her anyhow.

I did miserably in my CAT examinations, suffered The Great Depression (as my friends name it). I somehow coped up with the set back and immersed myself into the thing I was best at…studies. I finished my college and was about to celebrate my last day in the city, when again my inner voice came into picture and forced me to message her to meet for the last time. I messaged, don’t know why, but I did. I waited waited and waited for her reply. Finally her sister called and informed me that she wanted to return all the gifts I had gifted her sister. I told her that this was not required and I can do without them, but she insisted. I told her to meet me in the evening.

I was about to get the next biggest shock of my life, in the evening instead of her sister she came to meet me. She was looking totally amazing with her long hair blowing with the wind, her eyes twinkling like the stars, I needed a pinch to wake me up. And the most unexpected happened (No she did not kissed me neither she slapped), she requested for a promise that I have to keep till my death. She asked me to never tell anyone that she came to meet me, reason still unknown to me. She expressed all she felt for me, the way she admired me, the way she wanted our friendship to long for a life time and even after that, if God permits. I felt like a total looser, totally helpless. She was crying in front of me, because of me. I felt like kissing the drops of water that were falling from her mesmerizing eyes, but I had lost that chance forever. I was standing like a total dumb box with nothing to say apart from a simple sorry. She left and I couldn’t say the last few words which I always wanted to say to her.

Till today I feel a current running through my body when I think of that evening and I still hope to meet her someday and say those last few words.

Frend - a simple word which synonym the most beautiful relationship in this world. Converts I to We - the strongest covalent bonding made of love and care!

PS: Friend is not missplled as FREND, as I personally feel there is no need of 'I' in Frend, it is implicit. Frendship includes 'I' by default. I believe that someday this would be universally accepted.

Friends Forever

"Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit but life without friendship is like a tree without root, it can't survive." With this quote, I love to share the fun moments that rooted the lifelong friendship between us.

I with Rahul and Adithi were compiling a photo book to gift for Rachana’s Marriage. In that process we recollected all those sweet moments that happened in our life. Usually, I pen down my thoughts and they criticize it, but this time it is our combined effort. As usual, I love to take narration part as it is the soul for a write up, Adithi will short list the photos as well as assist me in the write up and Rahul will review it.

Adithi: Hey idiots! We will start with this pic... It looks very cute and innocent.

Me: Are we innocent and cute?

Adithi: Undoubtedly...

Me: Hmmm.... Let me do the honours....

I love to introduce the Fabulous Four Idiots in the order you see them in the picture. The one who wears a blue T-Shirt with black trousers with orange patches is none other than our critic King, Rahul.

Adithi: In short, he is the shortest guy of our gang...

Rahul: Youuuuuuuu Idiot............... I will kill you.....

The one who stands next to Rahul is Rachana, the active girl of our gang and it is always fun, fun and fun whenever she chitchats. The idiotic girl with a cute hairstyle and longs legs is our special girl Adithi, my best friend...

Adithi: The sweetest guy of our gang is Ashik, our gang leader and he is always next to me... BOSS!

Image Source: Meeting new friends hosted at Thursday Tales.

And that was the first picture we took after forming our gang, a lovely one that everyone has in his or her wallet. We were made to be friends forever and this was the seed of our friendship, which doesn’t look for money or any valuables but the precious hearts that cherish our friendship every second...

Rahul: Ok ok... Mr. Sentimental Idiot... Let us search some snaps...

Adithi: Hey idiots, how can we miss our apartment?

Me: Hey, let me tell about our mischievous acts that we did in our apartments.

This was the most unforgettable place in our lifetime as it helped bonding our friendship. The most favourite game as well as the most mischievous game is “Ring the Bell”, the one who rings the most number of door alarms was the winner and that would be me, myself.

Although the punishment was severe, we never stopped it, as we are the Fabulous Four Idiots.

This building had seen our smiles, cries, laugh, marks and last but not the least our Friendship that we would cherish for our lifetime.

Rahul: Guys, my favourite place...

Adithi: Our school picture right where you
found your destiny, your girl here.

The shortest guy of our gang found the cutest girl right here in the first floor, his destiny. Everyone had a moment in this school; I broke a tube light during my 12th Standard for which I have to beg literally to avoid the parents meeting, Rachana the outstanding girl and Adithi for the mischievous acts with me. One of the memorable one was the teachers’ day fun that we had in our class, she was wearing a purple colour saree, looked very cute but on that day, a cockroach played its hand and abused her, He... He... He... Adithi, Sorry for revealing the secret.

Adithi: Hey idiot, please don’t pen down it, please...

Rahul: Cool idiot... Take it easy...

Adithi: Hmmm... Please don’t...

There were many to list but few to put here, as we don’t disclose everything in this post but as different post in Few Miles, we completed our schooling in 2004 and came out with flying colours. I, Adithi pursued B.Tech IT course, Rahul B.E ECE in a well-repudiated college and Rachana joined Fashion Technology in Delhi as she dreamt right from her childhood.

Actually, we missed that idiot a lot in our college days, lecturer hours, stupid labs, worst PT session during our initial days, so we decided to meet on three days for sure. 1. Friendship Day, 2. Independence Day and 3. Republic Day. Friendship Day, the day that we cherish the most, this meant for our Fabulous Four Idiots. As you know, every Indian is proud of Independence and Republic day so we decide to meet even on those days too.

Our college days were fun filled after our second semester as we learnt how to enjoy in engineering colleges. Every day added a leaf to our fun tree and there were some unforgettable moment that happened during Industrial Visits. However, personally I cherish the five days of Inplant Training, the days that were considered as golden leaf in my diary. Four years went as seconds and in no time, we were declared as professionals. Between Rachana completed her course in three years, joined Indian Fashion Technology and she found her better half too.

Adithi: Hey dumbo, search for that lighting festival photos...

Me: I found it sweety...

Adithi: I would like to tell about this special event, the special moment, which I cherish a lot. I, Rachana, Rahul and Ashik painted all the diyas with different shades of colours. We lighted all the diyas, decorated the house and enjoyed the Festival of Lights. As the saying goes, “The diwali illuminations with lighted diyas brings the supernatural brightness and joy with the hope of finding light in darkness, and spreading love amidst hatred.” We enjoyed each and every second passed and accumulated those memories for us to cherish. On that day night, Ashik cramped a lot due to the heavy work, Sweet Idiot, the sweetest guy of our gang.

Days passed as seconds and we were recruited by top software concerns of India. Everyone schedule became tight as we couldn’t even send a Good Morning or Good Day Greetings. However, whenever anyone of us feels down we log in to a conference call and cherish our sweet moments.

2010 is a different year as we met five times in seven months for various occasions, I tied the knot with Ritika, Adithi with Rakesh, and Rachana is the next in the queue, Rahul still fighting with his dream so it will take a year or so for him to tie a knot with Sruthi.

We compiled the photo book with 101 memorable photos and I penned down those sweet memories with all our discussions. As today is Friendship day, we all are meeting by 10 in the morning, definitely, it will be an awesome day for us and I wish the same for all the friends in the world. Although we live in different parts of India and pursuing different professions, we are united with by an f-word, “FRIENDS

I dedicate this post to our “Fabulous Four Idiots” as “FRIENDS FOREVER!”.
