The Haiku Challenge is BACK !!!!!!!

Dear Special Blogging Friends,

Welcome to Haiku Challenge 2012 !

The Haiku Challenge is a Haiku writing challenge that runs from February 1 to February 29 and I am hosting the challenge for the second time successively. After tasting the success of Few Miles Haiku Challenge and The Heights of Haiku Challenge last year, I am hoping to see more and more people participating in this year. Fingers Crossed....

29 days – 29 Haiku - Wow! That sounds great right.

I love to throw this Challenge to everyone, any blogger interested to take part in the challenge to try his or her hand at it. Write in your blog and share the link in comment section or in the linky tools available in that day post for the challenge, here at Few Miles ~ http://pendownmythought.blogspot.com. In your post, do include the code provided for that day, so that your readers would know and if they love this challenge, can take part. If you don’t have a blog but you are poet in your heart and you tweet your poems in Twitter then you can very well participate this time in the challenge. What is a Haiku?

Haiku, is a form of Japanese Poetry, three-lined non-rhyming poem consisting of 17 syllables, in three phrases 5-7-5 syllable respectively.

This one is close to my heart, and as a sample to you…

I write from my heart
mirrors the true love with words

! The Haiku Challenge !

Dear Special Blogging Friends,

As February being the month of love, I decided myself to express my love for Haiku. After penning down more than half a century of Haikus, the love for it has become immeasurable and made me throw a Challenge to myself, ‘The Haiku Challenge!’ If you ask me what is this Haiku Challenge, then I would say it is simply writing a Haiku a day, beginning February 1 and to carry on until February 28.

28 days – 28 Haikus - Wow! That sounds great right.

Seeing the Success of Leo’s Z-A Challenge, Nimue’s Month of the Year Challenge, Riika’s Wishes Challenge, I love to throw this Challenge to everyone, any blogger interested to take part in the challenge to try his or her hand at it. They can share their links as a comment in the corresponding Haiku posts and read other participating bloggers too. If anyone loves to take part in this challenge then do leave a comment under this post here. I will design a Badge as well to display in your blog post.

If it is a Challenge, then there should be a theme for us to Challenge as well. As the love for ‘HAIKU’ made me to throw the Challenge, the theme also being the POET’s ‘LOVE’ for words (14 – Feb 1, 3, 5, 7…) and images (14 – Feb 2, 4, 6, 8…) prompted by me. Just use the words as the theme or as a part of your Haiku or a Haiku inspired by the image based on the prompt. I will display the list of words and images in my next update.

Spread the BUZZ word - BoIB

Dear Special Friends,

Just over a year of blogging, I found many pearls in my journey of Few Miles! In addition, I learnt many different forms of poetry. I could feel a giant leap in my scribbling from the day I first penned a poem for Someone Special in my life, titled “Sorry”

Sorry to wake you up in your sleep!
Sorry for hugging you last night that deep!
Sorry to implant my lips on yours!
Sorry for tasting it for some hours!
Sorry to reveal those unheard words!
Sorry for wishing that not to be my dreams!

From that day onwards, I started to pen down free verse, rhymes, most of them being romantic ones. Later I started this blog as a sweet dedication with the pen name, “Someone is Special”

This sweet journey have been acknowledged by many awards, recognitions and today I have happy news to share with you all. Yes, I have been shortlisted for the final round of Best of Indian Blogosphere (BoIB) 2010 polls under the categories “Poetry” & “Fiction”
