Dear Special Blogging Friends,
Welcome !
The Haiku Challenge is a Haiku writing challenge that runs from February 1 to February 28. I am hosting the challenge for the first time. I hope you people will support me by enjoying the same.
As February being the month of love, I decided myself to express my love for Haiku, after penning down more than half a century of Haikus, the love for it has become immeasurable and that made me throw a Challenge to myself, ‘The Haiku Challenge!’ If you ask me what is this Haiku Challenge, then I would say it is simply writing a Haiku a day, beginning February 1 and to carry on until February 28.
28 days – 28 Haikus - Wow! That sounds great right.
What is a Haiku?
Haiku, is a form of Japanese Poetry, three-lined non-rhyming poem consisting of 17 syllables, in three phrases 5-7-5 syllable respectively.
This is one of the Haiku loved by many…
Mom clasped me, wished
Good luck for final exams
Secret of success
I hope many enjoyed as much as I did when I penned this… This is a sample for the ones who going to try their hand at Haiku for the first time.
5 – 7 – 5 Syllable Structure
How to Count Syllables?
Here is a wonderful website to learn how to count syllables? Stop and learn the technique, do you think it is tough? I do not think so...
Is it that tough? No worries, count your syllables here…
Get…………………………Set……………………………………Go…………………………………
Are you ready for the challenge?
Write a Haiku in your blog and share the link in comment section or in the linky tools available in my post that day for the challenge, here at Few Miles blog: http://pendownmythought.blogspot.com. In your post do include a link back to the blog, so that your readers would know and if they love this challenge, can also take part. Here is the badge for the challenge, hope you people like it.
The haiku challenge is to write 28 Haikus in 28, so please do not share the link of your old post that fits the theme. Write on the day as per the schedule. You can combine the challenge posts with any other meme or prompts as you wish. You can also write more than one Haiku for the theme and link in here.
PS: I will visit each of the posts at the challenge and leave a comment for sure, and if I find it to be hurting someone in any way, I will remove the link from the comments section.
Enjoy the Challenge as much as I do!

Day five link for me:
ReplyDeletehttp://bodhirose.wordpress.com/2011/02/04/sacred-space/
I also signed up on the link. xoxo
Sorry to bother, but every time I place an entry, it displays on a dropped-down line with a red "X" above it. It breaks up the lovely flow of the columns. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Do you know how straighten me out? As a newbie, I very much want to fit in, because I’m really enjoying the haiku challenge. Any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Mike

SiS--I don't know what the problem is...I still can't post for the 13th. It's 2 in the afternoon here. It will never let me post the night before when it's first open in other time zones. Here's mine for the 13th:

SiS, I still can't post for the 13th and it's 2 in the afternoon here. Can never post the night before when it's already open in other time zones. So here's my grumble!

Here's for the 14th. Happy Valentine's Day
ReplyDeletehttp://liv2write2day.wordpress.com/2011/02/14/sis-daily-haiku-challenge-power-of-love/
Here we are, half way through the month, and I'm still finding it impossible to open the page to post my link. Mike Patrick has posted me a working link most days, which is fine as far as it goes, but the whole thing
ReplyDeleteseems to be a blogspot problem. It's the same with leaving comments - no problems with any other blog-type except blogspot, which make it really difficult a) to post a comment and b) to leave the site afterwards.
Does anyone else have the same frustration with blogspot?
Day 14 haiku is at http://vivinfrance.wordpress.com/2011/02/13/haiku-challenge-14211/
Viv, I haven't been able to connect the last few days...still hasn't changed to blue and I have Wordpress. Glad I'm not alone in this, I thought it was something I was doing.
ReplyDeleteSiS, here is mine for Solitude:
http://liv2write2day.wordpress.com/2011/02/14/sis-daily-haiku-challenge-waiting/
SiS, part of the problem with not being able to access the links to post is that it also keeps me from reviewing the other poets' work. Victoria
