Valentine Week ♥ Promise Day ♥ February 11

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, go upstairs.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say your prayers.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn off the light.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say goodnight.

You must have done more than this. If you have then give yourself a hi-fi, you deserve it totally.

I am a good teddy bear. As I said yesterday, I reciprocated hundred times more than the actuals. What else she want!

The fifth day in the Valentine Week is Promise Day. On this day, promise to your love that you will be the reason to believe in love until the last breathe. Love comes with a lot of promises and commitments. Make sure you promise and follow them, but at any case, do not do any fake promise. Promises cost a lot.

My promise to her is simple. “I’m all yours and you are always mine – ever and forever!” She promised the same. We are a happy couple!

Valentine Week ♥ Teddy Day ♥ February 10

How did the day go? Had your chocolates? Was it tasty?

If the answer is “YES”, great then!

I am a mad lover of chocolates and ice creams. I had them both after my dinner. Overall, it was a great day!

I am done with my plan for Teddy Day. Before I reveal that let me tell you what exactly Teddy Day is.

As the name suggest, it is time for you to send teddy bears to your love or crush. Ladies like to hug them a lot, so gift a soft toy. The more the softer, the better the love. Gifts ceramic or other teddy bears to Gents, they love seeing their love’s special gift. Make sure the Teddy Bear is of a good size, colour and material. It may not be the costliest one, but good enough to hug them close.

Vidhya presented a Teddy Bear (as in the pic below) last year. I liked it a lot. It was an awesome day. I have gifted different types of toys to her. This year, I am planning to gift a soft toy to her. It may not look like a teddy bear, but she can hug and kiss round the clock. The best feature of the toy is it reciprocates hundred times more the actuals.

Valentine Week ♥ Chocolate Day ♥ February 9

“Men do cry!”

It so happened today, when my friend Rakesh WhatsApp’ed me. ‘Gone bankrupt! Bought a diamond necklace for my wife. You know kada… how it is. Need fifty thousand rupees.’

‘Money sent buoy’

‘You are an angel buddy. Got heart attack on seeing the Gold Price today. Must have got one before for her. Missed it because of the dreadful word Deadline. Btw who found this Propose Day?’

‘God knows who!’

For the next few minutes I was thinking of a question, “Why such a costly gift? What is the connection between cost and love?”

The answer isn’t simple. Anyway, let me not talk about it.

The third day in the Valentine Week is Chocolate Day. On this day, you can gift the best or your partner’s favourite chocolate. Maybe you could buy a chocolate box too. Because the sweetness in the chocolate will surely enhance the closeness in your relationship. Moreover, it can turn romantic, if both of you are chocolate lovers.

Make sure you buy a decent size chocolate. It may not be the costliest one, but should be good enough to sweep your love off the floor. If you want to be romantic, gift pack the chocolate or the chocolate box, light a single candle and arrange for a surprise. Once your love opens the chocolate, have it right away. The rest could be magic!

This is what I did last year. And it turned out to be a perfect Chocolate Date with less of chocolates and more of us.

Valentine Week ♥ Propose Day ♥ February 8

FLASH NEWS: Indians made a new world record by selling more than 100,000,000 roses in less than 24 hours. Valentine’s Week fever?

Whatever I wrote may not be correct numbers, but I heard from my friends living in India that most of the flower shops reported that the flowers were sold out in the morning itself. That’s great news!

“There is a flipside to each coin.” That I second. On the other side, roses price were hiked just because it is Valentine Week. It is a Perfect Marketing Strategy, but is it acceptable? I do not wish to comment on that, but it is certainly a question to ponder!

The second day in the Valentine Week is Propose Day. On this day, you can propose your love without any fear of rejection. It is your right to express your feelings, propose your love, and propose marriage to your partner. Do not shy away. Just go down on one knee and speak from your heart. I am sure your life will be happy thereafter.

Make sure you choose a nice place for your proposal. A ring is must! If possible, arrange a photographer to capture those precious moments, or arrange for a camera and a tripod. I am saying this because in the recent past, I read an article where a girl penned down her expectation on Proposal Day – “How I want to be proposed?” The first point was “When my future husband proposes me, I want him to arrange for a photographer, and capture my blushes. I want to frame it for a lifetime.”

And, I wonder, will we experience a hike in Diamond and Gold Prices?

Keep your proposal sweet and simple!

I, being a person who loves capturing moments through my lens, captured those precious moments using my camera and tripod. Below are the few snaps I clicked on my precious days.

Clicked at Poovar Island, Kerala.

Clicked at Lubeck Beach, Germany.

Vidhya and I printed these photographs and hanged them on our bedroom walls along with the poems I wrote for her. Quite romantic, I would say. I will post a snap of our bedroom on Valentine’s Day!

Valentine Week ♥ Rose Day ♥ February 7

Love. Love is beautiful. Love makes life beautiful. This week, being the Valentine Week, I’ll be writing daily describing the day, dos and don’ts, and share some ideas.

Valentine’s Day is the Day of Love. A special day in every one’s life. The very thought of it excites me. It cannot be said in words, it has to be felt within. I am glad I found my special one – someone special – my Vidhya. This is our third Valentine’s Day and I have sent a special invite to her (Watch the video on Close up Site). I will write more about it in the coming days.

Coming back to the topic, from Valentine’s Day to Valentine’s week, is it a commercializing idea?

If I am not wrong, in my school days, my friends proposed their love on Valentine’s Day without any fear of rejection, and made it special buying small gifts. Even if it is small celebration, it will be between the couple. The trend has changed now. I see a lot of videos on different kind of proposals and even I read a lot about special Valentine’s proposal ideas. Most of them are very different to what it was ten years before. I like the change. Though it is commercialized to an extent, still it is good to Celebrate Love. I am embedding couple of videos I enjoyed watching on Close up Website.

Hope you enjoyed watching the video like I did. It is good to celebrate Valentine Week, if possible Valentine Year too :)

Valentine Week starts with a Rose Day. On this day, lovers greet each other with ever-beautiful red roses and go out on a date. Or you could send a card and a rose to your secret love. If you are in a live-in relationship or married, then wake up early in the morning, buy a fresh rose, and place it on the pillow next to your love. Play some pleasant music on a low volume, open the window curtains, wait until your love wake up and enjoy the surprise. If you want to freeze the moments, place a camera to record the precious moments of life.

Go Further to Get Closer

Life…surprises you every second with unpredictable unexpected twists and turns; I am not an exception to escape from it. I, just like every other IT professional, was eagerly waiting for an opportunity to fly onsite (foreign countries), and on one fine September evening, I grabbed an opportunity that came my way. It was for London, my dream destination, and I had no reasons to deny that opportunity. And it all started with the KG rhyme,

“London Bridge is falling down,
Falling down, falling down.
London Bridge is falling down,
My fair lady…”

From that moment I always wanted to learn the mystery behind the line, “London Bridge is falling down…why?” it made me curious to visit London, but what made me anxious was the secret revealed by Akhil, my best friend for life – the secret that reminds me of the most beautiful days of my life – Akshaya.

Akhil, the synonym of friendship, never managed to hide any secret from me, and this one too slipped out of this mouth during an unusual conversation about our college days.

‘But you know, I always missed her a lot, as a girl who made me feel what is love like…but she left me without saying a bye (a teardrop rolled down my cheeks). My heart says I will meet her someday and on that day, I will ask her one question, the question that pricks my heart every day, every night, right from the moment, she left me.’

‘Well you could meet her, if you happen to travel to London…’ he said, then bit his tongue, rolled his eyes and said, ‘I am sorry dude. I do not want you to meet her again and get into depression mood again.’

‘I…she is the best thing happened to me and you know that Akhil, but.’ I gasped for breath. I went out for a smoke before getting drunk that night. And from that day I had only one wish…one dream and that will come true in two weeks. My lips curved, my face lit up in happiness or anxious, I do not know, but somewhere deep inside my heart I thanked God for giving me an opportunity to meet her, to search her in the streets of London and, to ask her that one question which pricks my heart with a needle named Akshaya.

I took my Nokia 1100 phone out of my pocket, called Akhil on his mobile phone and said, ‘Shut up and listen… I am going to search her. If I find her, I will ask her…why the hell?’ I paused. Took a deep breath and continued, ‘Just two weeks, just five thousand miles, just eleven hours travel by flight, I will be breathing the same air she breathes. I know it is going to be difficult without knowing her whereabouts, but I will not miss this opportunity to meet her again. If we are not meant to be together, that’s fine, but I want to find her, at least to see her, to hear her voice, and to fight with her…one more time.’

‘And to ask her why did…’ Akhil said, cutting him short I said with moist eyes, ‘Even for that…’ I hung up the phone to avoid further conversations which might oil the flame burning inside my heart.

I took my purse out to see her passport size photo negative one more time. It reminded me one of our innocent conversations.

***

‘What’s this? Can’t you give me your photo?’ I frowned.

‘It is better to show one’s negative than printed painted originals.’ She winked, and I understood her point.

‘Yeah, it’s better.’ I closely observed her beautiful face in that negative. ‘Truly, she is an angel!’

***

‘Heartily congratulations to you. Heard you are flying to London,’ my colleague Saindhavi congratulated me from behind. I quickly kept the photo negative inside my purse, turned back and thanked her. She came close to me and whispered, ‘I will miss you.’ After a pause, she looked into my eyes and said, ‘I will wait for your return and I hope you will accept me.’ I smirked, ‘I cannot guarantee you. All I can say you is I do not have any love left in me.’ She left the place teary-eyed.

I felt bad for hurting her feelings. I know she is a cute good-looking kind-hearted sweet female who loves me infinitely, but I do not have any love to reciprocate her feelings. In fact, I am heartless…my heart is still flying in the air hoping someday I would marry Akshaya, the girl who taught how beautiful and painful love is. Otherwise why would God give me this opportunity? I kept asking the same question to myself.

The next two weeks went like a bullet shot from the 9mm pistol: filing the work permit, visiting the immigration office for biometrics, receiving the stamped passport, booking the ticket for the travel on weekend, and finally packing all the stuffs required for the travel. Before leaving to airport I spoke with Ma and Akhil.

British Airways Ticket

I sat comfortably inside the plane without showing the fear of first time travel. For everybody else this may seem like a business travel, but to me it’s my life, the point that will let me unravel the truth behind the flame that is set inside my heart five years ago when she left to some unknown country with her mother after her father died in a road accident and her sister ran away from home. And the flame still burns inside my heart without any eta of fire extinguisher and I slept without my knowledge comfortably in the cushion seats of British Airways.

It was the dream come true moment when I set my foot in London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. I jumped in joy without lifting my legs up, shouted happily without opening my mouth, danced to the tunes of nature without moving my hands and body, and did all that I could do. But it was short-lived, just for two weeks, after which I went again into nutshell as I wandered lonely as a cloud searching her in the nook and corner of the city.

Lot of questions occupied my mind. “Why I am wandering like a cloud? Why do I miss her a lot? What pushes me to search her indefinitely in the streets of London? Is she my destiny? Will I meet her someday?”

Wandering lonely as a cloud,
I began my search in the road.
With hope as the weapon, I
Am searching her like a fly!
What did I reap? What did I sow?
Why my life has no glow?
Will I meet her someday?
Only God knows that day!
If fate can be rewritten then
Let I rewrite but when?
How far should I go?
To say a hello,
I kept asking the God!

I kept asking the God eyes closed standing in Lord Murugan Temple in Church Road, East Ham. I opened my eyes to see my angel standing gorgeously in red-colored sari. I forgot to breathe. I flew to Cloud Nine. I forgot all the pain I had to undergo to meet her at that instant. Now, I can hear her voice, talk with her endlessly and fight with her too.

London Murugan Temple East Ham

‘How are you?’ she asked, her lips curving gently and her face shinning bright.

‘I was living the life of a dead in a grave named hope till this day. I am happy to be alive again.’

‘I am glad that you are here. I am…galti meri thi. It’s my mistake. I am sorry. I should’ve told you. But you know I had no,’ before she could complete, her mother came, and stared at us.

‘Ma…this is Kaushal.’ Akshaya said, her mom smiled and I smiled. Whatever happened in the next thirty minutes made me fly to Seventh Heaven and that marked the beginning of a new #MrAndMrs love story.

It doesn’t matter how far we go to get closer to someone we love. All we need is to live with that someone special and be lucky enough to spend a lifetime with them happily. And I said this bedtime story to my three-year-old cousin and I am hitting the publish button before the deadline.

Happy Endings!

Sense Of Love

The day started with little drizzles, as Ashik started to his school wearing a black hat, over coat and his usual school dress. He started cycling slowly as if he was riding a slow cycling race. He was in low spirits that day and felt very sleepy due to the weather. When he was about to reach his school, he saw Akhil, his friend shouting "Hey dude! It's a Holiday! Enjoy your day".

Ashik replied, "Shit, I don’t have energy to enjoy, idiot. Thanks anyway and bye."

He went to the park to which he usually goes with Hassini, his love. He knew that Hassini would come there, and so, he waited. Ten minutes later, Hassini came and closed Ashik eyes with her hands, "Who is this?"; "Mera Love” said Ashik and pulled her to the front and made her to sit.

As usual, they both started to talk, talk and talk, and the whole world went off unnoticed. An hour or so would have gone by when a few drizzles started dancing down on them, which could also not stop their talk. After ten minutes of drizzling, rain started to pour heavier. They both were left with no other option other than to run to a nearby tree. It was very big and they both found shelter under it. They were totally drenched in the rain because of which Hassini started to shiver, Ashik gave his overcoat to her but that also didn’t help her.

Ashik had no clue how to stop her shivering, so he just hugged her gently. She started to calm down but he hugged her tightly with lots of love, and in turn, Hassini. Ashik slowly lifted her face, smiled and kissed on her forehead at first, then on the left & right cheeks, followed by chin and the most attractive neck. He held her hand tightly and at last, he reached the destiny, and kissed her with ease for a few minutes.

Rain too stopped and they both started walking, hands locked, no words uttered. They both sensed the true love behind the act and the world went unnoticed.
