Namma Chennai! Singara Chennai!

Namma Chennai! Singara Chennai! My favorite city in the world!

I can list thousand reasons to show my love for Chennai, and I am sure all Chennaites will love the reasons because it would be the same for them. We Chennaites, are proud of being a Chennaite and a Tamilian. So I am not going to write it.

வந்தாரை வாழவைக்கும் தமிழ்நாடு – அன்று
வந்தாரை வாழவைக்கும் சென்னை – இன்று

This is 100% true. I have heard this from hundreds of people who travel from small villages and towns of India to Chennai. In Chennai, you can survive with nothing at all. Maybe, I will write a separate of post on this. For now, I will write about recent Chennai rains and the floods, that rocked Chennai yet we showed the world, why we are proud of who we are.

Last month, when the monsoon started hitting hard at Chennai, we, the people of Chennai, did not sink in the rain, instead we sank the religious difference in us and showed the world that Unity is Strength and Humanity is God.

The rain God came down to Chennai answering the decade’s prayers (it rained now and then in the last ten years but not like how it used to rain years before) from the people of Chennai. Since it was for a decade, the city roads got filled up very soon (not sure what happened to draining systems drive), then when it was about to fill up the ponds, rivers and lakes, (Thanks to Urban Development Drive that transferred Nature’s property to individual’s property), it lacked space, so it entered the homes, colleges and all occupied properties, and rest of all the other available places for stealing the Nature’s property – A Good Lesson Taught By God! Highest rainfall in the last hundred years.

We will learn from our mistakes, but it was a testing time for us. Thousands of people lost their houses, household items, clothes, food, cars, pets, money and everything, and a few of them lost their lives. Roads got washed away, bridges broken, reservoirs and dams overflowed, rivers flushed away everything. The city came to a standstill, with no power, no money, and no food. It sank, literally.

But did we allow it to sink completely? No, definitely no… National Disaster Rescue Team, Indian Army, City Police, and a lot of good hearted people came down to streets to help the needy irrespective of creed or caste. We rescued people from their homes using boats and moved them to safe location, we saved the dying animals and handed it to over to good hands, we provided food and water to people who got struck with no power in their houses, we swam in neck-deep, hip-deep, and even in 12ft to 15ft water in some areas to help the needy.

We did everything to help us in these troublesome times. We formed human chain to rescue, ordinary people became super heroes, celebrities became saviors, social media became helplines, hashtags like #ChennaiRains #ChennaiRainsHelp #ChennaiFloods became news, photographs captured history, maps became flood maps, bloggers became news reporters, and what not…?

Not just that… Government announced flood camps and medical camps, Telecom providers announced free talk time, EMI’s slashed, Banks worked on the weekends, mobile ATM’s and what not? We saved us. Not only from the floods, but also from the aftereffects diseases. After twenty days of rains and floods, we came down to street, cleaned the roads, removed the debris, disinfected the places, and made it livable again. Though it is in the process, still we can proudly say that we will bounce back soon. For more updates check Chennai Rains.

We had a Drive, a Design, and we connected to deliver better. Remember, we did not sink in the rain, instead we sank the religious difference in us and showed the world that Unity is Strength and Humanity is God. We're made of great. Though personally, I was not there in Chennai, still I did all my best possible help to all the people.

Hold My Hand

This post has been published by me as a part of Blog-a-Ton 57; the fifty-seventh edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. In association with Madhu Vajpayee, the author of Seeking Redemption and Shades Publications, the publisher of Friendship- Bonds Beyond Time.

He closed the gate, stood there, looked on his right, and then on his left. On seeing a speeding car, he said, “Hold My Hand”. She didn’t.

“Hold My Hand, dear. Let’s cross.” He repeated his words. She didn’t. He turned back to shout at her. And on seeing the word at the gate, “Graveyard,” he realized that she is no more. A teardrop escaped from his left eye.

He wiped off the tear and walked across the road. In the midway, he felt her fingers in his, it was… her soul. Her soul smiled and he smiled.

“Together forever!”

Real Togetherness

It’s not every day you get to watch an advertisement that is worth watching again and again. “Kissanpur – Discovering Real Togetherness” by www.kissanpur.com is one such wonderful AD I watched today on Facebook. The AD is about bringing people together with the help of nature. An old man enters in to a lift where no one cares to greet or smile at each other, followed by a few instances where everyone lives only in their digital world, and this hurts. A group of kids along with the old man bring together the society with the help of nature, and that’s the best part of it. This reminds me of an incident that happened exactly two years ago that helped bring people together and defined the meaning of real togetherness.

It was a summer season. The time was around six in the morning when we four friends initiated an idea to clean the poorly maintained big pathway in the center of our society. We brought the necessary tools from our houses, and started working on the task. We first collected all the garbage in a bin bag, removed all the unwanted plants, and sprinkled germ killer all over the place. It took almost three years to complete this task. We then painted the wall tricolor, and wrote Tamil proverbs on the wall. We planted a mango tree in the dedicated corner and created fence around it. We did all these in a single day. The next day we fixed a big waterproof box naming it “Suggestion Box” with a digital lock. We bought two new benches and placed it opposite to each other and in the middle we placed four pots sowing different plant seeds. All of a sudden the deserted place became a centre of attraction to the people in our society.

Elderly people gathered there every evening and started speaking with each other. Day by day the count increased, and we used this as an opportunity to bring out the hidden talent in each person of our society. Slowly it attracted the youths and even the kids as well. Everyone started revealing their hidden talents like dancing, singing, reciting poems, acting, etc., It helped kids and youths to familiarize with elders and in turn elders understanding the passion of their kids. We even recorded events and reached people in the digital world. By this way we came together every day, spoke with each other, shared our passions, and created opportunities for a bright future. In the meantime, the mango plant became a small tree, the seeds we sowed turned into colorful plants, and this added beauty to our Crazy Corner.

Thus, we experienced the real power and meaning of real togetherness, in this digitally connected world.

♥ 6 Years ♥

Six years in Blog-o-sphere. I am super-duper excited! It sounds like yesterday I started writing at my blog, and I never thought that time would fly this fast. The journey from an unknown writer to the compiler and editor of two books is exciting like heaven, and I wish this journey continues forever till eternity. This would not have happened without the constant support of my sweet mom, my wonderful wife, my other family members, my editors – right from Vinit Bhai (Uff Ye Emotions 2 Editor) to all the eight wonderful sweethearts I have worked with so far, my wonderful publisher Sachin and PG, my blogger friends for staying with me right from day one – Leo, Zainab, Rachana, Jingle, Simran, Ayushi, Pranali, Aish, TF, Saru, Brian, G-Man, Amity, Vibz, Nanka, Scribbling Gal, Dreamy Girl, Cloud Nine, Sri Valli, Panchali, Norman, Ellecee, Sulaiman, Namrata, Anita and my anonymous readers whose emails I always treasure.

Thank you all for making this journey special. Special thanks to IndiBlogger, for the grand platform, to Blog-a-Ton, for everything I own from them and to BlogAdda for announcing my name to blog-o-sphere in 2010.

And I made this collage to recall all that happened from day one. Hope you will like it :D

I want to celebrate this day in a unique way. That’s the reason I invited the contributing authors of Friendship- Bonds Beyond Time anthology to share a few words. Thank you Simran, Mahesh, Prakash and… (I'll add more as I receive) I hope you enjoyed reading them :D

Happy Birthday Few Miles by Simran Kaur

I heartily congratulate you Sarav for not only completing six golden years of blogging but achieving more than that. Few Miles, a perfect epitome of love and romance won my heart right from the first time I visited it. Every memory of it is still fresh in mind and it feels good to revisit them every now and then...celebrating our friendship. It's not just a blog but a beautiful home of emotions weaved through words alone. The best part...It's been five years and we still continue to cover miles after miles together. I feel fortunate to be part of this wonderful journey. Wish you many many more success miles to cover in coming future.

Let your pen speak
all that you hold in heart
because there are millions
who live by it part by part

Let your pen speak
those unsaid words
because that's how
this journey started
as a bud...

Let the bud of thoughts
come out and flourish
because it is meant
to spread happiness
and cover yet another
mile of love and peace

While I walk down the memory aisle...there is this beautiful reminisce...one that inspired me to write...to dream...to...

Alive by Mahesh Sowani

I stand beneath the Peepal Tree
Its rustling lively green leaves
Make me realize its life
It has been here for ages
And so am I
It is alive
And so am I
While I have been alive for such long
Why did it take so long
for me to realize its liveliness?
May be
It was always what it was
I had to make efforts
To be what I always was

Prakash Guru

Life is beautiful because it is made up of people albeit some are good and some are bad, while some are just amazing and I was lucky enough to meet two of the most amazing people, yeah Sachin and Sarav. When Sarav asked me to write some words on the occasion of 6 years of Few Miles, an incredibly well constructed blog with posts that shall make you revisit it every now and then, I felt like a tyro in front of this humongous blog. If it was not for the efforts of Sarav, Shades Publications would have been still crawling. No doubt Sachin and I were always there from its inception, but it was Sarav who brought about a change by his witty imaginations and methods. On this occasion of 6 years of Few Miles, I wish and hope that shades shall walk a few more miles and may be till eternity in the hands of Sarav and his team.

Thank You Sarav for everything, a prolific writer but more than that an incredibly great human being. I wish you all the success and happiness in your life.

The Secret

This post has been published by me as a part of Blog-a-Ton 56; the fifty-sixth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write.

On hearing an unfamiliar scream, he rushed inside the room. His lovable wife, looked at him and the new-born angel, and whispered, "I will..."

He waited her to complete the sentence, but on the seeing blank lines in the heart monitor, his heart skipped a beat.

The doctor held his hands and said, "We could not save your wife. Sorry." Tears poured down from his eyes. The nurse gave him his angel, and the doctor asked him follow the process to complete the formalities.

And what she wanted to say remained a secret till her daughter published her debut novel.

From My Heart - Without You

I am bad at opening a blog post or a short story. Most of the times, I open with a quote, and support the quote with my points. Not this time...

This week is going to be really special, for bloggers, for authors, and for readers. As I said in my last post, my focus got shifted from blogging to books and manuscripts. My next anthology, my first compilation, Friendship Bonds Beyond Time: a collection of twenty-five wonderful stories, is going to be released on September 17, 2015, Ganesh Chathurthi. The book will be available on Flipkart and Amazon. Support all the authors published in the book. Please buy the book, read all the stories, and share your feedback with us.

The results of my second compilation "Colors Different Shades Of Life" will be out on the same day. Thanks to Shades Publications for the wonderful support. I thank the guest authors for their contribution and I wish good luck to all the entrants.

How's this?

Another good news: Shades Publications will launch their website on the same day. It is going to be a very BIG DAY for all of us! I am looking forward to it.

Storizen, an online magazine, has come up with a new campaign “How did you conceive?”. The campaign is good, and it is picking up slowly. I read a few response and I found Adite Banerjie’s response and Shobhan Bantwal’s response engaging. In case, if you like the concept, do send in your response and get featured.

A Software Engineer’s life is not a happy tale to be printed in words, as he or she has to undergo a lot of troubles to sustain in the industry. Here is a cry which I scribbled a year back inspired by a few people here. And this poem has been published in Storizen.

From My Heart - Life is Beautiful

It's been close to two months, since I published a post. My focus shifted from blogging to reading/selecting short stories for the upcoming anthology - Friendship Bonds Beyond Time: a collection of twenty-five wonderful stories. I am even working on three secret projects. That's how our teams want to call them. I shall spill the beans once we get into print.

I enjoyed writing short stories, still I felt void inside my heart. A void I could not explain in words. A void because of the longing for feedback and comments for my work, and to read fellow blog posts. I sent my works to a few close friends for review, and I received feedback, which solaced my heart, yet I felt I should write a post on my blog.

Vidhya and I went on a trip to Switzerland for five days, visited famous cities and places (Lucerne, Engelberg, Mt. Titlis (We went to the top of Mt. Titlis and made video calls on Skype to my Parents and Vidhya's Parents), Grindalwald, Interlaken, Swiss Caves, Unterseen and Rhine Falls) and posted photos on Facebook. I shall post my experience soon, a travelogue after a long time!

Here I am, yet another time, planning to regularly post quotes, poems and excerpts of my work in progress. I hope this will help me overcome the void I feel inside.

Will I be able to succeed? I will leave it to time to answer.

The quote for the week is... (it's a old quote posted long back)

It's Summer Time. Let's Stay Fit!

Summer has come! Finally! After chilly winter days in Hamburg, the weather turned beautiful from last week. The mercury is crossing the early twenties. I can see more people cycling and coming in two pieces to office. Like most of the men in late twenties, I too, have a small tummy, credits to the freezing winter, the long office hours, and the weekends that were spent without any physical activity. I do not want to look old, and I badly want to get rid of the small tummy. I am not someone who prefer to skip breakfast or eating less for dinner to lose weight. In fact, I can never fast or skip food just for losing weight. That is, how I am, from my childhood.

There are two ways of reducing weight in a short span and that can be achieved by following a healthy diet and cycling to office, like I did, in the last summer and lost around seven Kgs, which unfortunately, I gained again in the winter. Now, it’s time to redo and get fit soon.

I prefer having a healthy breakfast, a good lunch, and a light dinner. For breakfast, I always prefer Honey on the top of sliced Banana. A recipe my wife and I like the most. It’s healthy and good for a decent breakfast. I prefer Dabur Honey, which I buy for a good price from Penny. For lunch, I prefer rice with any gravy, and for the dinner I prefer Indian Flat Bread. I call it a balance diet, because I have fruits and tea in between. Because a balanced diet helps to stay fit, stay healthy, and fight against the harmful bacteria by strengthening the immune system.

Do not take any risk when it comes to health, because a crash diet, can lead to several disasters, which includes a dozens of diseases that can never be heard before by a common man. This happens, particularly when you live in a county, where you have inadequate sunlight. So never ever take risk when it comes to food. Do follow a proper and healthy diet.

Also for those, who hates having healthy green salads, can opt for Honey Diet, which adds taste to the tongue, and also helps you to say healthy. Have a look at Dabur’s Honey Diet here. You can find more and more healthy tasty Honey Recipe here, the benefits of having Honey Recipes in detail, and to check out the calorie count that you take in a day. You are always opt for Expert’s advice from their website.

Have a balanced diet, because no ones like to look aged or suffer because of a crash diet. Stay Healthy! Stay Fit! Stay Smiling!

Surf it All! Surf it Fast!

Cricket... Cricket... Cricket... Sachin... Sachin... Sachin... Inseparable words that made my childhood beautiful. I have a lot of memories attached to cricket. Be it the tuition bunk, falling sick on exam days (my dad still believes I fell sick, so only I took leave... my mom knows me the best), pasting my ears to only pocket radio of those days, happy to stay back at home instead of attending any family functions just because I have to study for a class test or do my unending homework, or the best of all - skipping work reasoning sick and down... all for one motive - To Watch Cricket!

How good it would have been, if I had an option to watch the match when Sachin made history to become the first man on the planet to score a double century. Priceless right?

Yes, Cricket is not just a game. It is more than a religion in India. And to stay connected with the game, we have a hell lot of apps - none of them are the best owing to the speed they deliver the update - but nothing could suffice my requirements. Moreover they irritated me flashing "Loading data" always or "this app is not supported by your phone model". And when days passed, I got used to "Loading Data" and "Late updates" despite of having a 4G Connection.

Deep inside I wanted an app or a browser that's fast, easier to use with seamless transitions and connected 24 x 7 to cricket. I had none. I wished to develop an app on my own. Thanks to busy schedule which never allowed me to do it.

But, I know, I'm not alone. There are several thousand cricket fans wish the same. And guess what, one company made it possible. They made a browser with all I wished for, and with an unbelievable addition - a space in the browser dedicated for every cricket fan connecting them to the match center wherever they are - Believe me or not, but that's the truth.

Have a look at the latest fastest cricket-friendly UC Browser. Now browse faster with maximum data compression than never before. Experience Seamless Transitions. It features UC Cricket, where it provides the best cricket service in India, which includes but not limited to...

Happy and Safe Browsing!

Happiness is buying online jewellery

I wish I can make a meme, “That moment when you realise that the most searched item changes from books to jewellery!” and post it on Facebook. All thanks to my dear wife’s addiction to jewellery and artificial jewellery. Be it Google Search, or Facebook Ads, or whatever, her first priority is to search for online jewellery shopping in India. The moment she finds one, the next few hours she will explore all possible options in the site, and will shortlist at least a dozen items to hear my opinion. Without much option, I will view each one of them, and provide my review comparing with her previous finds. Most of the times, I give a negative review complaining one or the other missing features, but this site www.candere.com amazes me enough to write this post.

For a design fanatics like me, Candere website and their precious creations, is a treat to view and surf. I must confess that they have different ranges of products, from Diamonds to Gold to attractive Gems, from Necklace to Earrings to Mangalsutras for women, from Pendants to Rings for men, and from Bars to Custom Designs for all. What makes the site outstanding, is the way they present the best of their collections to the customers, with detailed information on category wise pricing of Metal, Gemstone, Making Charges and VAT, options to preselect between White and Yellow Gold, options to select the gold carats, which ultimately decides the cost of the jewellery, and helps you buy online jewellery at an impressive price. And for people living in abroad, Candere also accepts payment in Australian Dollars, Great Britain Pound and United States Dollars.

I have made my wishlist: two vakratunda ruby pendants, of the type “just initials jewellery”, made of white gold. I’ll be opting for 18 carat Gold, as the occasion is going to be special. Yes, I’m planning this gift for the third anniversary of our first interaction. I’m very sure that my wife is going to love this. Since they deliver in seven days from the date of order, I will be placing the order just before the special day. I’m super excited!

It’s your turn now. Browse through the vast collection of tempting yet elegant and eye-catching jewellery from your home and make occasions special. Remember Candere products come with Insured Free Shipping, Jewellery Certifications, 30 Days Returns, and Lifetime Exchange. The USP of the product is its bespoke international designs and it’s also available on EMI. Subscribe to newsletter option and enjoy 1000 INR off on your first purchase. Wonderful, isn’t it? Give it a try and share your experience in the comment section of this post.

The Rain

This post has been published by me as a part of Blog-a-Ton 55; the fifty-fifth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. In association with Rashmi Kumar, the author of Hooked, Lined and Single and Jyoti Arora, the author of Lemon Girl.

Sitting by the windowpane Sinamika stared at the pouring rain through the window, the road had become a stream, the trees and the plants appeared green and fresh, the dogs and cats, the cows and hens, became sick of rain, and there was no existence of life on the road.

She looked at her Father, Venkat, he was still sleeping in an easy chair, she had to wait for him to wake up, to sail the paper boats. Her favorite time pass on any rainy day. She looked again through the window; a car flew like a lightning on the road. She closed her eyes, calm, yet melodious drizzles, made her swim in the memories of last year’s rainy season.

* * *

Appa, I am going to sail my paper boats.” She stood up from the chair after making her paper boats. Her Father got up from the easy chair, brushed her hair, and said, “It’s still raining, dear. You might have to wait a while!”

She put up her long face – the drama queen – sat by the windowpane and waited for the rain to go away. Her Father came close to her, and said, “Maybe, we should try something else.”

“What should we do? Cook Pakodas and eat?” She frowned, looking down, without having any eye contact with her Father.

Amma is preparing pakodas and tea. She will make it ready in another thirty minutes. Till that time…” Cutting her Father short, she asked, “We will watch TV, is it?”

“No, Sina... We will go out and dance in the rain.” The moment he said this, she jumped on her Father, hugged him tight, and shouted, “You are so sweet Appa!”

Her Mother came out of the kitchen, saw them smile happily, washed her hands, and then she said, “But keep an eye on the road, Sina Appa. These days the car drivers fly like a rocket.”

“I’ll take care of her,” her Father assured. They went out much like the happy mouse after finding the new cheese mountain in the book, Who moved my cheese?

Sinamika looking upwards stretched her hands out, in the rain. She hopped clapping her hands in the rain; her Father too did the same. On seeing them out in the rain, the dogs came out of the kennel and the hens too, joined them and made sounds like one happy family. It was a picture perfect frame.

In about half an hour, her Mother came out and asked them to come in and wash their hands and legs, to have hot pakodas and tea, as she was almost done with the cooking part.

Sinamika ran out of the compound walls shouting, “No… No, I want to play more in the rain.”

They heard a big explosion. Her Mother ran inside to check if something happened in the kitchen, her father ran in next, stopped near the door, and called Sinamika to come in. She refused to come in.

He heard another big explosion inside, followed by a huge scream, when he went inside; he saw his wife caught fire because of the explosion of the kerosene stove. He quickly got a sack, and wrapped it around her, and rolled her down.

He heard a screeching sound outside, followed by Sinamika’s scream. He ran out of the home, only to see her daughter lying in the pool of blood mixed with water stream, hit by an over speeding car that passed through.

He broke down into tears. He composed himself quickly, knocked his neighbor’s door for help, took his wife and daughter to the hospital in the car.

* * *

Sinamika, her Father called her name loudly. She came back to present, tear drops fell from her eye, she looked at her amputated legs, and then her Father, “Can you take me out in the rain. I want to sail my paper boats.”

His lips curved a little, he made her sit in the wheelchair, collected all the paper boats from the table, and took her outside the home.

She took her first paper boat with the help of her Father, looked at the sky, “Amma, this is my letter for you. I want you to return after reading this,” she said and sailed her paper boat in the stream of water that led to the place called Hope.

The second was the letter to God asking him why He snatched her Mother away from her, the third was the letter to the Government requesting to find the car owner who took her legs away from her, the next was her secret wishlist and it continued.

* * *
She Hopes that all her letters get a response!
Will it happen?

What's Happening!!

It is almost a month since I published a post. Though only a very few friends read this blog, still I hate to leave this place empty. I can easily blame my hectic schedule or the season here. Yes, it is summer in Hamburg. Either I spend my weekends in a park (Stadpark) with Vidhya or I’m busy doing the household or the Hausaufgabe (Homework). Do you have homework to do? If this is your question, then my answer is yes. I joined German Integration Course last month. I have to complete my homework and revise the lessons (I just did once).

On weekdays, I start to office at 7 AM and will reach office at 7 30 AM. I have classes from 5 PM to 9 15 PM, and I reach home at 10 PM. I’m occupied 24 x 7, which makes me unable to post on this blog on Sundays. I can scribble a post like this every week, but for sure, it is going to bore everyone. I can post some photographs or quotes, but that will be same as what I share on Instagram. I do not want to repeat. At the same time, I do not want to keep breaking the promise I did to my friends at the start of this year. One post a week and to complete my books before the end of this year. I wrote until the end of March, after which I got busy. I tried my best to write, but I failed miserably. I do not want to be irregular. Going forward, I will write. The easiest option available is to write a haiku a week, post a few words I learn in the week, and pictures I take. I will try to keep it simple and interesting.

Lessons for the week:

Guten Tag – Good Day!
Guten Morgen – Good Morning!
Guten Abend – Good Evening!
Guten Nacht – Good Night!

Hallo! Guten Tag! (Hello Good Day!)
Ich bin Saravana Kumar Murugan. Wie Heißen Sie? (I’m Sarav. What is your name?)
Guten Tag! Mein Name ist … (Good Day! My name is)

Coming back to the post, there is a reason to start again today. Facebook just reminded me that Simran and I are friends on Facebook for four years. I got excited. I shared it on Facebook. I recalled a few incidents that happened between us. One of them was penning down a story with Simran titled “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”. It is getting published in the book, “A Little Chorus of Love”: a collection of short stories. I hope you people will enjoy reading the story.

Actually, I can write an essay about Simran, but for now, I will keep it short.

I’m lucky to have a friend like you, Simran. Thanks for everything.

Sharing a click I posted on instagram this week. Like it?

And to all my friends, thanks for reading this post. I will be back next week with an interesting post (I'll try). Till then, take care.

Have a great week ahead!

Prost! (Cheers)

Shake it Baby!

“Just a shake is what I needed baby.”

“What do you mean…?” She asked.

“Don’t you know what I mean?” I answered her question.

“But… I’m miles away from you.” Her words conveyed her mood.

“Still… a shake is what I needed to call you again.” I said giving her a clue to what I meant.

“Hmmm…” She hummed for a minute. Inside my head, she blinked like a tube light. As usual. Then she guessed, “Is your balance zero?”

“It was zero, but not now.” Before I complete my sentence, she shot the next question, “how did you recharge on the way?”

“All I needed was a shake on my smartphone after launching My Airtel App.” She asked the next question, “My Airtel App, is that a new app?”

“Well… it’s a simple app but it does a lot of things. Seriously, a lot of things, like recharging online your Prepaid sim, paying your Postpaid bill, manage your DTH and Broadband recharges and payment and much more than that. In short it is a simple online store in your hands.”

“That’s really cool.” She said, spoke to someone in her hostel on the dress she wore, and then she asked a golden question, “Do you remember the initial days of our relationship? How we managed to recharge for the other when not in town?”

“It’s been ten years now, still those days remain fresh in my memories, when we used to recharge for the other if the call gets cut automatically while talking. How can we forget that small shop where we maintained a common account for both of our expenses? Those days are the best days of our life.”

“I just installed the app on my phone.”

Shake it baby!

“Wow… that’s awesome. I got a cashback offer that’s almost equal to the amount I recharged.”

“That’s sweet of Airtel…” cutting me short, she spoke in a high tone, “OMG! It has an option to add my family members’ numbers. I’m adding you right away, okay.”

I received a message. “Airtel Recharge... … …. Your New Balance: 574”

“Did you top up for me?”

“Nope” she said, “I was testing the feature… And you know what, now I could recharge and manage all my Airtel services through my smartphone. See how smart I’m” She was excited. As usual.

“I just paid my Broadband bill dear. Hereafter I will not bitch you to pay at the shop near your room. And there’ll not be any reason for you to smoke.” She said, then she laughed and finally she said, “Okay, I will call you after some time. I have to get ready. I’ve a photoshoot today.”

“Okay, I’m also going to get down. I will give you the call once I’m done with the work. Love you my dear little lucky baby.” I said and hung up the phone.

Life of a travel photographer is so exciting, you never know what will amaze your third eye the next second, I thought and clicked the photograph of a boy jumping into the river fearlessly.

That night one more time I launched the app, I got FREE DATA as an exclusive offer for me. I thanked #MyAirtelApp and uploaded the photographs to a new Album on Facebook - Shake it Baby!

Happy Talking! Download the Airtel App here: http://www.airtel.in/myairtel

Forever

Forever.
She is Forever.
She is “Forever”… the creator, the living God, the purest Diya in God’s throne, and every single bit of faith I have in God.
She is “Forever”… my first love, my first friend and my best half. That’s why I believe in relationships.
She is “Forever”… a magical musician, a valor protector, and a wonderful teacher. The first song she sang, the first time she protected when I fell down, the first rhyme I learnt, is the best that happened to me so far.
She is “Forever”… my first poem, my first prose and my first special post. Maybe, that’s why I’m able to write.
She is “Forever”… a 21-year-old lady, a super-active woman, working round the clock, round the year, non-stop. She never sleeps and he has food only when she gets free time.
She is “Forever”… a super Amma for… me, my sister, my brother, my sister’s son and daughter, and for my future daughter. Even today, my sister’s son and daughter, call my sister Priya Akka and my mom Amma.

Above all, she is “Forever” my pillar. There are so many “Forever” about her. I will never be able to end this write-up even if I list them all… because I’m her son… Forever and Ever!

Happy Mother’s Day Amma!!!

This post is dedicated to my super Amma and to all the angels in this world…

Top five reasons that could redefine the smartphone experience. #CantWait4Zenfone2

There is a slight difference between a normal smartphone user and a techie smartphone user. The former uses the mobile phone whereas the latter lives in that mobile phone. I belong to latter category. I use… nah I live with my smartphone. And it all started when I first bought the Phablet Samsung Galaxy Note, following by Note 2 and then to ASUS Zenfone 6 – the smart big colorful phone I am in love with. I am using the phone for the past eight months. I have to say that Zenfone is the best phone available in the market. That is one reason I kept watching their website. My short wait came to an end when I read about ASUS Zenfone 2.

They are the synonym of innovation... ASUS Zenfone 2 And I’m in love with this phone for many reasons. Out of which, the top five reasons that could redefine my smartphone experience are:

Luxurious Ultra-Thin Ergonomic Arc Design

Do you know that Zenfone 2 comes with a luxurious brushed-metal finish? Trust me the luxurious ultra-thin ergonomic arc look of the phone is very attractive. No other smartphone available in this price range or even higher can match the elegance and class of it.

And that's pretty much the first reason to look for this phone.

Performance for Today, And Beyond

64-Bit Super Quad Core Intel Atom Processor, 4GB RAM (2GB also available) and 64GB (16GB and 32GB available) internal memory.

Is this the configuration of the laptop that I am writing this post? No… This is what Zenfone 2 Tech Specs. OMG! I cannot believe my eyes! If this is your reaction, then join the club.

And this sums up the second reason to buy this phone.

What you see is what you get! (WYSIWYG)

Many manufacturers have always promises a dream display and enriching touch experience, but what we experience is something bitter. ASUS is the only BRAND to have live up to the expectation and I believe Zenfone 2 with FULL HD IPS DISPLAY is icing on the cake.

And this is why I love to experience this wonderful one.

See What Others Can’t See

The most powerful eye is the lens. What if I say that this lens can click magnificent photographs even in the dark? Yes, Zenfone 2’s 13MP camera and f/2.0 aperture lens can capture amazing Low-Light photographs, HDR, Depth-of-Field photographs stunningly. Get ready to see what others can’t see.

And this is why I want to tick this phone.

Less Time Waiting, More Time Doing

The curse of being a frequent traveler is always living in “Zero Battery” zone. Thanks to ASUS BoostMaster Technology that can charge the Phone at double the speed. It might be unbelievable but 60% in 39 minutes… is freaking awesome. And guess what with 3000 mAh it just serves the purpose. Perfect solution for business people.

And this is why I want to make this phone mine. Of this, I am sure; these five reasons will redefine the smartphone experience for any smartphone user.

Life is a chocolate

Life is a chocolate has been adapted into a chapter in the recently published book: The First Call: Love In The Time Of Virus. If you enjoy reading the story, I sincerely recommend you to give the book "Coffee Reads" a read!

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 53; the fifty-third edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. The chilly winds blew up the dead leaves in the air piercing the numb silence of the graveyard. The damp close air with reduced visibility reminded her of the world she lived years ago. A bowlful of memories locked up in the torn piece of her heart belonged the person living in the gravestone. She went down on her knees, placed a Swiss dark chocolate on that gravestone, pressed her lips on the name “Varun” engraved on it. Tear drops filled up the space between her lips and the gravestone. And the clouds too poured down their grief to mark the end of a beautiful story.

* * *

The thousandth ray of morning sun fell on his face. He twisted, turned, and tossed up on the three-years-old hostel-bed. The fresh aroma of the tea activated his brain that ordered to him to open his eyes to greet the day. He saw a card and a plastic cup of tea kept on the table. He extended his arms, took the card in one hand, opened with a smile, as ordered on the card. It read…

Okay, One, two and three,
Let’s the fun begin with tea,
Get up from the bed,
Freshen up Mr. Red,
Wear the sexy red shirt,
Come to our heaven Mr. Flirt!
Yours,
Lady Book.

He threw himself out of the bed, sipped the tea in a minute, rushed to the bathroom and freshened up in less than half-an-hour, ran to the heaven. He saw a card on the library door. It read…

Words we love, reading
Again and again, feeding
The hunger inside, seeding
The peace of love, wanting
For more from his pen, leading
The world of poetry, dancing
With the host of daffodils, loving
Reading whatever he was blessing!
Yours,
Insane Poem,

The first line itself was enough for him to run to poetry section and grab Wordsworth, still he read till the last word to enjoy the words. A card fell down from the book. It read…

Come to the place,
Where we first met.
Come to the place,
Where we first fought.
Come to the place,
Where we first cried.
Come to the place,
Where we first smiled.
Come to the place,
Where we first sat together,
Come to the place,
Where we first ….
Yours,
Idly & Kuruma.

“What’s was that word ending with ‘er’” He said to himself. He turned the card to see a smiley that made him laugh. He kept the card along with other cards in his shirt pocket, ran to the canteen, only to find the ever-smiling sweet-enemy classmate, Aron. Aron showed Varun the card he was dying to read, but Aron did not allow him to read till he paid for his breakfast. It read…

I am the synonym…
Of your smile, tears (happy and sad), mood (good and bad), status (Facebook & Twitter), the ordinary words that you scribble and yet sounding beautiful when I read, and of course, the Swiss dark chocolate that you love a lot.
Yours,
Swiss Dark Chocolate.

And on the backside of the card, it read… “Meet me at my home now!” On reading the card, he ran to hostel parking lot, then to his bike, to be surprised to see a “Swiss Dark Chocolate” with “I …. …” written on the cover, and kept on the engine. He started the bike, changed the gears and flew to heaven.

In about half-an-hour, Nithya received a call from him on her mobile phone. She said, “Loser. Loser. Loser.” A stranger spoke, “Mam, can you please come to Apollo hospital. Your friend met with a road accident. I’m…”

She fell unconscious.

When she opened her eyes, she saw him covered in white, placed inside coffin. Aron walked towards her and handed over a Swiss Dark Chocolate with “I …. …” written on the cover. Aron said that Varun was admitted in the hospital in “braindead” condition. Doctors operated Varun’s organs to save a small boy who was in need of a heart. She looked at the chocolate, pressed her lips on the cover, and...

The chilly wind blew up the dead leaves in the air piercing the numb silence of the graveyard and made her skin shiver. She went down on her knees, placed a Swiss dark chocolate on that gravestone belonged to her, pressed her lips on the name “Varun” engraved on it. The bowlful of memories flashed before her eyes. Tear drops filled up the space between her lips and the gravestone. She said, “I …”, and her heart stopped beating, but her lips whispered two more unsaid words.

Varun saw her unmoved for more than ten minutes. He came out of the car, running and shouting “Mamma” with a Swiss Dark Chocolate in his hand and a card in the other. It read...

“Life is like a dark chocolate. Bittersweet. Depends on how you see it. You can make it sweeter by turning the odds to favours or by losing to it. Choose your way, Varun :)”
