Freedom from Fuel Hikes ~ a boon for car lovers

This post won in 'Freedom From Fuel Hikes' Contest organized by IndiBlogger in association with FIAT. I thank all the sweethearts for the like rain and selecting my post as one of the winning entries. Thank you for your support. Happy Man.. Thank you thank you thank you...

Morning is chill in Bangalore but Monday mornings are blues everywhere. I am not an exception to deny it but my fate, I have to reach office on time even on Mondays.

‘Hey Sid... Karthik has put his papers....’
‘Don’t kid Isha....’... ‘I am serious idiot....’

‘Oh this is a bad decision. How he can be so stupid’ I said to myself on the way to Karthik’s cabin.

‘Hey have you put your papers?’
‘Oh yeah... I have put my papers....’
‘Are you nuts? Why all of a sudden?’
‘Am I… I have a genuine reason dude…’
‘What is so genuine Karthik?’
‘Come let’s go out and discuss.’

It is easy to come out of the development center but the toughest task is escape from manager’s eyes, which was the most difficult task. Somehow, we managed to come out without being captured by any of the 11 demons. We grabbed a cup of tea for both of us before we started to discuss.

‘What is so genuine Karthik?’
‘Salary… I have been offered 7 Lakh in my new concern.’
‘Seven... That’s huge for a two years experience guy... but....’
‘What’
‘Karthik… Here you have scope for onsite right?’
‘I do agree dude’

‘Then what made you to take this stupid decision? You even got a good hike too....’

‘Yeah I agree Sid but....’
‘What…’
‘Don’t interrupt dude... Let me complete....’
‘Go ahead Karthik’

‘Indian Government has raised the rate of petrol. Don’t you know that?’
‘I do... But what is the relation Karthik?’
‘Are you so dumb?’
‘I am... I can’t relate dude....’

‘See... My car is a second hand car, it results in very poor mileage i.e., just 10 KMPL (Petrol). I have to travel 15 KMS to office from my home. Therefore, in total 15+15 = 30, which costs 71.36 * 3 = 214.08, and on an average we travel 22 days, so the total is 4709.76 Rs. + Rent (4500) + Food (4000) + Gym (1500) + Body Mass Powder (2500). It sums to 17210 Rs. IT, PT, and other tax sums to 2000. In total, I have to spend Rs. 19210 a month and my salary is just 20210. How much I save?’

I really became so dumb after hearing his non-stop speech but whatever he said is true. He can save 1000 Rs at the max but how come he can save 1000; he has to pay his mobile bill right.

‘Can you still say I took a stupid decision?’

‘Well, not exactly but I have a solution for you. Fight with demons and try to get 25 % percent hike here itself. Go far a Car loan in HDFC bank and buy a FIAT PUNTO man. I am sure you will love the car as well as you can save the money.’

‘How is that possible?’
FIAT PUNTO DIESEL edition is now available at the price of petrol car man.
‘Unbelievable Sid’

‘See to believe dude. It is available from 4.5 to 6.0 Lakh, and if you choose loan it will help you to save more money by reducing the Income Tax’
‘But... What about the mileage?’

Wait... Let me complete dumbo... "Fiat Punto 90 HP". The 1.3L, Multijet diesel engine of Fiat Punto 90 HP delivers 93 PS of maximum power with 209Nm of maximum torque that makes it the most powerful diesel hatchback in India. The car offers excellent drive dynamics – Ride, Handling, Braking and also superior fuel efficiency of 20KMPL. The cost of the car is also cheap; you will get free fuel vouchers, free insurance and free road side assistance.

‘Really’ Karthik eyes puzzled on hearing about FIAT PUNTO. In the meantime Isha joined us for the tea.

‘Yes... See my expenses... My car is a FIAT PUNTO 90 HP, it provides me unbelievable mileage i.e., 20 KMPL (Diesel). Even If I travel 30 KMS in total I have to pay much less compared to you... Up & Down Travel 15+15 = 30, which costs 45.16 * 1.5 = 67.74 (which is less than 1 litre petrol), and in average we travel on 22 days, so the total is 1490.28 Rs which results in saving Rs. 3000 per month. + Rent (4500) + Food (4000) + Gym (1500) + Body Mass Powder (2500). It sums to 14000 Rs… IT, PT, and other things sums to 400 (Because I have a car loan). In total I have to spend Rs. 14400 a month, my salary is 20210 and so I can save nearly 5000 Rs dude.

He became so dumb on hearing my monthly expenses and savings. I advised him to demand for either 25 % hike or for onsite opportunity here in this company with the help of the offer he holds and asked him to order FIAT PUNTO, India’s most preferred Diesel technology. His smile reflected the sign of relief he could get from petrol but no one can save him from the demons for the next one hour in the name of discussion.

Isha also agreed to order one for her dad. So guys, if you love cars but if the petrol price puts you in a position to hate cars then here is the solution.Order FIAT PUNTO or Linea as soon as possible and enjoy the benefits of the advanced and most preferred Diesel Technology. As I advised Karthik, “See to Believe”, stop here to know more about FIAT PUNTO, TEST DRIVE the car and take one to your home. I have done it already and it is your turn now... Enjoy…

Our review of Few Miles follows ~ Indian Top Blogs & IndiBlogger Contest Winner !

It is sweet to learn about our blog from one of the review expert and if it from Indian Top Blogs then it is tastier than many sweets. Here is what they have said about ‘Few Miles’.

Our review of Few Miles follows:

• You have used a very clean template for the blog.
• The thin titlebar with well written title and the cute graphic are excellent and so are the horizontal bars above and below it.
• The slide show is charming; your selection of photos too is fine.
• Your use of 'jump beak'/ read more to keep posts small works very well.
• Photos and sketches complement the text content well in your posts.
• You have used slide show to show your awards and recognistions. It looks good as well as saves space. Similarly, you have put the certificates from competition blogs down in the page. Fine enough.
• The light background to the posts helps in separating them from the sidebar and each other. Fine again.
• You are a prolific blogger and you engage well with commenters. Excellent!

Now a few points for your consideration:

• At least one of the photos in the top slide show leads to a dead end.
• The soft colored text looks good but has rather poor readability. We recommend that you keep the main text of posts black. If not, raise the font size by one pt and/or make it bold.
• Your description of SiS appears a bit too long. It is also lengthening the side bar beyond the end of the last post. Do consider reducing it a bit.
• Though all the widgets that you have put in the sidebar seem to serve a purpose, think of removing a couple of them if you can. In case you feel like ageeing to that, remember that the two last scrolling widgets should not be alongside a post; they will irritate the reader. To that extent, it is good that they are hanging much down the page.
• One small but important issue with your blog is that your reader has to cope with three identities: the url, your pen name and the blog title. We leave it to you to sort that out. Let us suggest one way that will at least reduce it by one: the title could be Few Miles and a sub-title can go under it like this - musings from Someone is Special.
• The Alexa review of yuor blog is missing! It is linked in two places.

Overall, yours is a fine blog and we are including it in the Directory of Best Indian Blogs. Congrats!
Happy blogging!

Thank you so much for your sweet review. I will surely consider your feedback.. If you wish to get your blog reviewed then stop by Indian Top Blogs and get your blog reviewed.. SmileS..

Grand Celebrations ~ Haiku Heights

Last Saturday, Haiku Heights meme celebrated its first anniversary, and this Thursday my Haiku venture turns one year young. I never thought a three-lined non-rhyming poem, just 17 syllables, in three phrases, 5-7-5 syllable structure, will make me fall in love with it madly. As a trial and error method I started to write this form, later the love for Haiku made me to throw a challenge to myself, "The Haiku Challenge". The intimacy between Haiku and me can't be defined and let it be the same.

I heartily congratulate Leo for hosting Haiku Heights successfully for the past one year and wishing him for more success in the fore coming years too. 'Last but not the least', a special heartily thanks to Leo for inspiring me to write this beautiful form of art. Thank you so much my dear friend. I dedicate the below work to Haiku Heights, Leo and for my muse.

a journey of 52 miles
engrossed in 17 syllables
three line master art

three line master art
right from many happy hearts
Celebrates the art

Celebrates the art
Cherishes the sweet memoirs
of the times we grow

of the times we grow
Let further miles we cross, a
journey starts again

“Sir, we found a dead body of a person killed in a mysterious way near the Cooum River. He must be at least 40 years.”
“Mysterious? I will be there in ten minutes. Inform forensic and photography departments to complete the formalities.”
“We will do that Sir.”

I disconnected the call, turned towards my wife for her response.
Sweetheart, don’t say me that you have to leave at this time of the night
Idiot... I have to, because it’s my duty, sleep well
I dressed up and started to Cooum River.

“When can we expect Siddesh?” DSP Rajesh shouted Rahul in anger.
“I am here…. Come Rahul let us move to the spot”
“Oh Shit... This is horrible...”
“Sir, this should be a planned murder”
“I hope so. Did we find any clues?”
“No, we didn’t”

I closely analyzed the body, “The dead man face is in deep blue color. His eyes are wide open, completely blue and blood has clotted in his eyes. His nose is completely filled with white color substance and it may be salt or any white powder. Some sharp substance is used to pierce his face skins. ‘REVENGE’ is the only word that strikes my mind.

“The observer has observed” Rahul said.

After observing his body deeply I said, “Rahul, publish these pictures in paper to find their family members”

“Sure we will do that Sir”
“Or... Wait a minute. I don’t think this photo would help to find their relatives instead invert it to black and white and match it with the Voter’s ID list.”
“Sir, do you think the photo in the Voter’s ID will match with the original face?”
“That’s why I asked you change it to black and white” I smiled.

In about half-an-hour, Rahul identified the person using the voter’s list.

His details
Name: Dayalan P
Spouse Name: Manjula D
Age: 35
Address: 23/93, Sivan Coil Street, Kasikuppam.

And found their family details too. We left to the above-mentioned address to unravel the mysteries behind his murder.

“Is someone there in the home?” Rahul shouted

A small boy came out of the house answering our question and I became wordless on seeing the little one.

“Where is your father Dayalan?”
“He must be drinking in any wine shop or he may be lying somewhere on the road or in his keep house”

I am shocked on hearing his weary answer. So I enquired about his mother. That’s when his eyes moistened; voice trembled, and he said, “Uncle, my mom died a month before because of gas stove explosion”. A tear is my response because my voice trembles to reveal about the death of his father but Rahul helped me to convey the news. We took the little boy with us to confirm the body. “Daddy... Daddy…” the little one screamed with tears and it took hours for us to complete rest of the formalities before the little boy dad’s funeral.

“Get me a cigar buddy,” I said to Rahul...

I completed my last puff
I am happy for you dear. Congrats for yet another feather in your cap
Ish, it is not just a feather but a lesson
Lesson”, her eyes puzzled and my silence ignited her fuel.
Lesson… I am confused. How did you trap the murderer?

"When I closely analyzed the dead body, I observed that his face is in deep blue color and it is because of ink or dye but the lab results confirmed that it is ink. His nose is completely filled with white color substance; it can’t be salt because it will evaporate soon but not the chalk piece powder. Some sharp substance is used to pierce his face and the pattern resembled an ink pen. Lastly a strand of hair was found in his right hand which when tested matched the DNA of his son, Raghav. Then while searching the dead man house we found an ink pen with broken nip, which had a pierced tissue in it. When tested it matched the sample of the dead man and the fingerprints on the pen matched with the little boy."

Great. That’s how you closed the case?
Nah, the little one confessed the truth in our interrogation.
Confessed
Yes… Revenge
Revenge on DAD? What could be the reason?
Mom…
Mom?

"The little one’s father, the dead man is an alcohol addict who drinks daily and fights with his family. On May 10th night he was fully drunk, fueled by the news that his wife has an illegal relationship with someone, he tortured her by piercing her eyes, stabbed her bosom and finally killed her by cutting her neck. On realizing that he has killed his wife, he created a gas stove explosion and burnt her to ashes to paint the murder as an accident. But the little one somehow learnt the truth when he was drunk the other day. He decided to kill his father, a revenge for his lovable mom’s death and the result is his intelligence in killing his father in a mysterious way. I couldn’t believe my ears when he revealed the truth but I have to. I wished to set him free but my uniform doesn’t allow me to do that. So"

So
I produced him before the court.
What did the judge say?

Imprisonment for the next five years for the little one”, a teardrop fell down when I said this to Isha.

Sid, control yourself” only the words said so but her tears revealed the truth, after all we are human beings. We can just shed tears, other than that nothing else can be done. She came close to me and said, “It is time for my sweet revenge

...TRUST
and be...
...TRUSTED
Author’s Appeal: REVENGE is the stupid solution for broken trust. It may be your dad, mom or any close relations but when trust is broken, either they commit suicide or they revenge. Better, trust them, spread the love and stay happily.. SAY NO TO ALCHOL AND CIGARETTE

#250* ~ The Sweet Milestone

Dear!

Writing is my passion, and I am born in this world to express my dreams, I do so as poems and prose. I do prefer poetry as it helps me to rhyme what I love to, and attain peace.

I met an angel in my dreams, fell in love with and for whom I first penned a poem titled “Sorry”. From that day onwards, I started to pen down my thoughts in my diary. Later on request by my sweet friend, I started this blog on demand and as a sweet dedication to my dream angel with the pen name, “Someone is Special”. My sweet journey started with the poem, “First Waters”, and later LEO (100) & Jingle (200) honoured me with their guest post.

After travelling 249 miles, I decided to honour my blog with three precious angels’ write-up (‘Geeta Singh of Stimulation Of The Mind’, ‘Simran Kaur of My Friendship’ and ‘Mohini Puranik of Gurukripa’).

Geeta Singh ~ a sweet sister who always encouraged me with her sweet comments. Your sweet post honours my blog, thank you Sis.

Fantasize feast and penned facsimile in heart,
I enliven with and interlace through,
Sermonize expressions enraptured me expressionistic,
Mesmerizing me and my thoughts with the bright hue of sensitivity,
Sometimes limerick, Sometimes lachrymal,
Dedication in heart and mind to reach at the final destination,
Covering few miles with laurels

~ 249 ~ Love on the Rocks ~ Ismita Tandon Dhankher ~ Book Review ~ Someone is Special

Can someone say ‘I hate romantic thriller’? May be you can but I can’t and the words, ‘romance’ and ‘thriller’ invited me to read this book. What is so special about this book? When most of the new age writers stick to love, kiss, sex, break-up and other sorts, ‘Love on the Rocks’ by Ismita Tandon Dhanker is a fresh breezy read.

The cover of the book itself is so refreshing for the readers and it says...

‘What happened to Gary?’
‘He was lying on the floor, dead.’
‘Congratulations, Raghav. Your investigation has reached the next level, from theft to probable homicide!’

“A tree is known by its fruit” and so the above lines and her first poem

The tinkling of glasses, raised to toast,
A room full of sailors, shrouded in smoke,
Senseless chatter and stale jokes,
The rolling of the ship from port to starboard.

Amidst the laughter and voices so loud,
I strain to hear the murmur to fear,
Loneliness that lurks beneath the surface
The countless miles to the nearest isle,

Yet, the festive descend,
Grown men turn little boys, pretend,
This make-believe shall last forever,
Such is the sprint of the brave mariner.

Wow, What a poem Ismita and what an Ode…

The book is about the time spent by Newly Wed Sancha with her hubby, Aaron Angelo Victor Andrews, Chief Officer of Sea Hyena. She boards a ship, along with Aaron and twenty-four crewmembers of Sea Hyena. Sancha accidently meets charming First Officer Harsh Castillo, who is also Aaron’s best friend and fell for his looks, not actually but just in thoughts. She also meets the Captain (Popeye), Baldy and rest of the crewmembers. She learns about the recent death of chief cook (Gary), who was found dead in the meat locker. Followed by it was Kurian’s run-in by dead Gary, his hands was covered with blood of dead Gary. Although the death of Gary was termed as an accident by the Crew Members but when there’s a theft from the captain’s safe on the DJ night, green dollars roughly worth 20,000$, things begin to puzzle her. She takes it on her to investigate the mysteries and all the men come under her doubtful eyes including her husband Aaron.

With investigating officer Raghav’s arrival, her investigation under her doubtful eyes was so deep. She finds the thief to be the person whom she can’t even imagine in that position and learnt about her hubby’s past love Rose. She could not digest her love being cheated and with no option left she finds herself at the cross roads of love, honesty and integrity.

‘How Gary was killed?’ ‘Who stole the money?’ ‘Who found the culprit?’ ‘What follows in Sancha’s life?’ Don’t wait to discover the answers for these questions. Just stop by Penguin Books India and Buy one for yourself. PN: PUBLISHER: Penguin Books ISBN : 9780143414681 Price : Rs. 150

Totally, an interesting plot, the flow of the story is just so awesome and the way the mystery is unraveled is unbelievable. The best point about the book is the story is told from viewpoints of different people, which as a writer I love it so much and it makes the story very interesting for the readers as well. The character sketch of Sancha and Aaron was amazing and the author did full justice to the mystery and thriller sketches that is to be the heart of the novel. I expected many romantic encounters but was disappointed on that note.

And in acknowledgements I read, ‘Torturous manuscript’ ~ this is one of the best scripts I have read so far. ‘Love on the Rocks’, is a romantic thriller that tests the bonds of love and marriage against a backdrop of suspense, murder, so-called suicide and many psychological undercurrents. And when you reach the last page, you will feel worth spending the time reading the book for hours.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5. Ismita Tandon Dhankher Rocks... If you love her book and want to read more of her works? then stop by her blog, A lesser known Poet

+/- ~ I am suprised to see this.. aww.. Thanks Google..

Thank 'U'...

The hearts praying for my DAD's Good Health is GOD to me.. So, I see many God's here and everywhere... Today is the Day I was waiting for, ‘My Dear Dad is getting discharged from hospital’, HAPPY MAN…. Thanks for your prayers and blessings for my dad here on ‘Will my life be colorful ?’ post.

Thank you God’s…

Don’t shed tears when you have a problem,
because tears is never a solution;
Don’t feel down when you have no solution,
because solutions are hidden within prayers;
Don’t feel confused when you have no one,
because God’s are humans with good heart;
and I see many here on my blog,
Now, with no need of tears,
for the upcoming years,
Stay Smiling…
Happy Colorful Days are back…

As I said, I see many God’s here and this incident reminds me of this Tamil Poem, “Yathum Oorae Yavarum Kelir ~ Kaniyan Punkunranar”, he articulated this song 3000 years ago in Purananuru.

யாதும் ஊரே; யாவரும் கேளிர்;
தீதும் நன்றும் பிறர்தர வாரா;
நோதலும் தணிதலும் அவற்றோ ரன்ன;
பெரியோரை வியத்தலும் இலமே;
சிறியோரை இகழ்தல் அதனினும் இலமே.

எட்டுத்தொகை நூல்களில் ஒன்றாகிய
புறநானூறு. 192 - பாடியவர்: கணியன் பூங்குன்றன்

Here is my translation of this beautiful poem…

I am a world citizen; Every citizen is our relatives;
Be it good or bad; it is not from others;
and so pain & and its solution;
Death is not at all new, and we neither
feel proud to live, nor
feel distress to end; Like the
rainfall from the sky after a heavy lightening,
thunderstorm, though it is clean and colorless, after touching
the earth, it takes the color and quality of the place it falls,
and mixes with river, sea and ocean.
Our life also takes the shape depending upon the circumstances
and these facts are realized & understood by the learned elders,
Hence we don't flatter them as privileged; and more than that
We don't snuff the underprivileged!
