Coffee Date - II

Have you ever jumped to sky when you scored thirty-six marks in any or all of the subjects in annual exams during school days? I have not, but I have experienced that feeling and jumped to cloud nine after a good dinner date. It all started when Isha text asking, if I can join her friend’s wedding. I too shamelessly accepted her invite. I wore a blue colored t-shirt and jeans pant and went to the wedding. She looked fabulous clad in blue colored sari. It was an accident, though. Still our common friends started teasing us while having our dinner, for which, she blushed a lot. And that’s the speciality of having friends, they help you ignite the fire that is needed for love to blossom.

She was looking at me as if she wants to eat me for dinner rather than what she had in her plate and said, “You look quite dashing today!” I smiled nodding my head.

After having our dinner, I went down on one knee near the car parking, and gave her a rose. She turned pink and accepted my rose. I was the happiest man, as my clean shaven look bowled her over. I drove her home happily. That night, I did not allow anybody in my room to sleep. I kept on narrating all that happened between Isha and me.

The lucky charm continued to work out in my third and fourth date, but what happened in the fifth date (that appraisal and full beard sucks) is what you will read in my next post.

From a hard-core drinker to a Bacardi Breezer drinker – the journey

It all started when I first tasted the beer (Bullet) during my college days. It was bitter, strong and can knock out anybody in minutes. Despite all these reasons, my close friend and I liked it a lot. We drank whenever we bunk college and had fun (maaja). Then we slowly started drinking all the beers (KF Draught, KF Premiere, KF Strong, KF Super Strong) that were available in our state, whenever we met after our college days. (i.e., during the recession period 2008) All of a sudden, we got our joining date and, we moved to different parts of India.

Four of my friends from different department of my college and I moved to Bangalore and stayed in a house opposite to Total Mall, Madiwala. During the initial days of IT life, we had no time for fun, but after a period of hell, we started to drink beer at regular intervals. (Budweiser, Carlsberg, Tuborg to name a few) We got bored of beer, so we shifted our interest to whisky’s and scotch. Initially, we started with DSP (Director’s Special), then to BP and to a long list of whisky, tequila, and scotch. (Director’s Special, Blenders Pride, Teachers, Royal Stag, Johnnie Walker – Red Label, Blue Label, Gold Label, Jack Daniel's, Glen Drummond, Glenfiddich) All of a sudden, all of us got an onsite opportunity and moved to different parts of the world. That’s the time I got introduced to new brand of beers (Heineken, Guinness, Swedish Coffee beer) and whiskeys (Talisker, Scottish Whiskeys). Skype group call was our way of getting united to celebrate all good things that happened in our life. Puking became a habit! That’s when I started hating beer and whiskeys. I stopped drinking too.

I badly needed an alternative so that I escape in office parties. That’s when one of my colleagues introduced me to Bacardi Breezer in an office party. His favourite flavour was cranberry, but then he advised me to taste Jamaican Passion, as he thought that it would suit me the most.

We grabbed our drink and stood in a corner of the party hall. I too was eager to taste something new, and I still remember the first sip, as it brought a sparkle to my dull eyes, briskness to my soft voice and a smile to my sad lips. I did not stop with one; I had three that day and happily welcomed a drink for my life.

Since then, I tried all the flavours of Bacardi Breezer, but my heart’s choice was Jamaican Passion. If you ask me why, I would simply say, The magic it brings to my mind and body is the reason for falling in love madly. The love for the drink starts when I pour the chilled Breezer into a shimmering glass, then smelling the aroma, and then sipping it little by little. It’s the best when served chilled and is fairly expensive. Easier to mix and make our own drink :)

Truly, Bacardi Breezer (Jamaican Passion) is a great refreshing drink for BBQ’s, Parties and as a casual drink at home. Do write your favourite flavour in the comment section of this post.

Coffee Date - I

Often I do not find something interesting to write. But when I find, I am not an exception to sleep on that. BlogAdda’s P. A. S. S is one such initiative.

They say, “68% women think that clean shaven men smell good.” That I second. I am one of those bachelors who hated a clean shaven look because of many reasons. In fact, I preferred the other way – long beard and moustache. But what happened in my first date changed my world for good.

Isha is a sweet cute idiot, the one and only queen of my heart, who has a face of goddess and, her big moist eyes can steal hearts of stags. Her nose is drafted close to perfection to add beauty to her face. Her perfect pale pink rose bud lips can even tempt a saint. Her white complexion is hard to compare. She has the best of the best features a girl could have. In short, she is a dream! And to date such a sweetie, I consider myself lucky!

We were having coffee at costa coffee near her office. She was looking at me in a different way and said, “You look matured.”

I smiled and was enquiring about her new job. She smirked, looked around her, and then said, “I hate that unclean stubble. See he must be some 30-plus, but he looks like 50-year-old. I wonder how his relationship will work out.

It hit me hard enough to realise that girls hate beard even if it is stubble. Now I smirked and we left the place after the coffee.

From that day, I met her only after a clean shave (did I?), but what happened is what you will read in my next post.

Ah! Love is in the air,
The one I dreamed of,
All day and night, for years,
Like a bird flying in love,
Like a monsoon flower,
Like an apple fruit,
She is a love idiot!

The first rain of the season,
Sailing down the seas of wind,
The perfume of chill breeze, and
Enchanting aroma of wet earth,
Endless, like us, ever and forever;
My dearest sweetest valentine,
In spring, we unite into one!

Wherever I see
I breathe you,
I smell you,
I feel you,
I am you,
You and me!

I am a bit emotional. It’s almost ten years and now, I am writing a "Thank you" post for all my readers. In fact, I have not prepared anything to write, but I believe I can write a few words to thank people who are the sole reason for whatever I am today.

They say, “Matha Pitha Guru Deivam” that I second. The most important person in my life is my mother. Without her support, I don’t think I would have been standing here in front of you. She is my first listener to all my stories during my kindergarten days and thereafter. Her feedback have always inspired me a lot, to do better than the past and to face the critics that I received from day one. Thank you Ma!

My father taught me to fight against all the odds. He said not to give up until I win, because in the end it is all about happy endings. And if it is not happy, then it is not the actual end, keep moving towards your dream. Thank you Pa!

My first crush (Isha – my dream girl), she has woken up my poetry talent, and is the sole reason behind my first poem (Sorry) and my first fiction (Sweetest 90 Seconds). And from that day on-wards, she constantly motivated me to write free verse, rhymes, short story, form fiction, most of them being romantic ones. I love you.

My close friend Saraswathi, she requested me to start a blog, as she felt that I could touch hearts with my words. She is my first reader, a tablet to all my traumas and, a sweet person who instilled confidence in me by saying, that one day my blog will be read in hundred countries. She was right. Today, my blog is viewed/read in 176 countries. Sincere thanks to her.

My blood friend Bala, who supports me at all times, irrespective of the time and mood he is in. He is my second listener, a Tamil aspirant and always requested me to write for the good of society. Thank you machi.

My roommates (Arun, Deva, Raghu, Siva TK, Sridhar, Vivek, Mohan, Manoj, Atul, Kiran, Aamir, Revanth and Karthik), for suffering many torturous nights, listening to my idiotic romantic stories, and still providing feedback to make it better. Thank you all. I definitely owe you all a beer from Germany. (Except Aamir, as he is a non-drinker)

My managers (Saji, Patro, Moses, Rachel, Kittu, KV, and to all my team leads), thanks for trusting my talent and for all the opportunities despite knowing that I am regular writer at nights. Thanks :)

My laptop, especially for the backspace and delete button, thanks for the patience.

My Haiku Master, my first blogging friend Leo, for all the possible reasons. Thanks brother.

My blogging friends (Zainab, Rachana, Jingle, Simran, Ayushi, Pranali, Aish, Saru, Brian, G-Man, Amity, Vibz, Nanka, Scribbling Gal, Dreamy Girl, Cloud Nine, Sri Valli, Panchali, Norman, Ellecee, TF, Sulaiman, and the list continues) for reading and encouraging my work. Without you support, I would not have written posts here. Thank you all!

My dear critics, without you I would not have written better posts. Thank you so much.

My dear readers, who supported me at all times, staying my side though my ups and downs, through emails and comments, and anonymously. Special thanks to all of you.

To Sachin Tendulkar, the person who taught me nothing is impossible. Thank you Sachin, you mean a lot to me.

To Pawas Jain, Ritesh Agarwal and Parlance Publisher for giving me an opportunity to see my name printed in a paperback book. To Vinit Bansal and General Press for giving me a fantastic reach in publishing world. To Gaurav Mishra and Sanmati Publisher for the fantastic Valentine's Day Gift. And to all editors and publishers with whom, I will be working in future, thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

To IndiBlogger, for the platform in the name of contests and encouragement (results) they provide. To Blog-a-Ton, for everything I own from them. To BlogAdda for announcing my name to blog-o-sphere in 2010. I have no words to thank the BlogAdda Team for all the encouragement and support they provided all these years. To Google for providing blogger service free, and for indexing all my posts. To wordpress.com for providing http://blog.iamsarav.com! Thank you.

Last but not the least, I would like to thank my dearest wife Vidhya, hug her and say, “Darling, I love you so much. Thank you so much for gifting the Parker pen; it is indeed my lucky pen!”

Ah! How could I miss you dear Few Miles? A part of me resides inside you, and that is what loved by most my readers, and is cherished as the undisputed romantic king of blog-o-sphere. You are my best gift, and my gift would be the unending relationship with you, no matter, how big or popular, I grow in life.

I know my speech is getting too long, but I want to make sure that I use this golden opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the support and encouragement. I hope and believe that I will continue to get the same support in the coming years. See you soon.

Stay healthy! Stay smiling!

Cholera, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Plague, Tuberculosis, Dengue Fever, Typhoid Fever, Yellow Fever, Malaria, Smallpox, Chickenpox, and many more diseases are commonly seen in India. Almost all of us fall sick now and then, as if we have a pattern to follow. Newborn babies, small kids and children are more vulnerable to fall ill, and when they fall sick, the first thing their parents do is to visit a doctor, a dozen of tablets and, at times, an injection is given to help recover soon. Teenagers, youngsters and adults are stable and they fall sick rarely, and when they fall sick, they try to fight with their immunity first, and only if they fail, they pay a visit to a specialist, where they will asked to take a blood test, and a dozen of other tests to identify the disease and given tablets to recover soon. Old people are more often fall sick and they live on medicines. Unlike the above, there are people who end up in cancer, AIDS, and all other unknown diseases, which we have one ultimate result death.

Life of a human being is not as sweet as we read in books. We fight with a lot of enemies every day without our knowledge. Sometimes we win and most of the times we lose. The reason behind that is simple – immune system – that protects us like our army men do and at times, fails before a powerful enemy. In such cases, we seek the help of medicines to rebuild our army again. But did we ever analyse why did we fail? I suppose No.

In how many houses, our grandfather and grandmother falls sick? Less, very less I believe. They stay healthy despite their age and body, they walk faster than we could; they are fit than we are. It is because, in 60’s and 70’s, a mother breastfeed her child till he or she turns five, they drank Raagi Kanji (Raagi Porridge), they ate Koolu Urundai and they worked in their farms under the sunlight. Their body was a weapon to fight with many unknown enemies, a tool to accomplish tasks, a flower when it comes to love. In 80’s people were a bit more cautious, they drank milk mixed with a pinch of turmeric, they ate spinach regularly, and they had a proper food structure, which provided them enough nutrients for their body to function properly.

Nowadays less than a year old babies are suffering from Dengue Fever, Malarial Fever, and several other diseases...kids suffer, all because of one reason. Immunity System…today’s children are more vulnerable to diseases because they lack immunity system. They are not breastfeed like us for years; they are not given Ayurveda products like us; they do not live in an environment like us, they are not like us at all. They are weak, terribly poor immune system and are likely to be attacked.

They say, “வைத்தியனுக்கு கொடுப்பதை வாணியனுக்குக் கொடு” I second that. My manager’s baby girl was suffering from fever, which was later found to be Dengue, made him go on leave for three months to take care of the baby. His doctor labelled them as careless parents. He was shocked, “Careless parents?” He loved his precious baby girl a lot. He took care of her more than his better half did, and then he realized that lack of breastfeed is the major reason for his baby’s poor immune system. Along with that, one must eat a healthy food and that’s mom made. Green leaf, green vegetables, carrot, beetroot, broccoli, orange, apple, banana constitute a good diet. Children when growing must eat these instead of eating at McD’s and KFC’s. Make it a habit.

Kids should be allowed to sleep for a good amount of time. How many of us allow kids to sleep peacefully? I believe right from their kindergarten kids are developing of habit of sleeping for six hours due to the busy schedule. I strongly suggest kids to sleep for at least 8 hours per day. In our times, we used to play round the clock, but nowadays kids sit for hours before PS3’s. It makes them dull, creates eyesight problem and deteriorates their briskness. Parents should encourage their kids to play outdoor games like cricket, football, hockey, kho-kho, kabbadi, etc. It helps them grow faster and stronger.

It is our duty to ensure that our children have a healthy environment, which helps to develop a strong foundation and a body that is built on strong immune system. The secret of building such an immune India is simple. Breastfeed babies, proper food structure, outdoor games, exercise, and a healthy mind!

Stay healthy. Stay smiling.
