Writer’s block…I was unable to do write properly from the start of this year. I thought writing 50 posts in 2013 is going to be tough. I gave up, almost. That was when I read about BlogAdda’s P.A.U.S activity. I liked the concept. I started writing. And see, what has happened now. Not just 50, I am sure of writing 75 posts this year. I am happy to be back. I am glad I dragged my friends in (Ayushi and Simran was facing the same problem.), and this activity helped them as well.

450 posts in 4 years, 2 months and 10 days, which is something I am proud about. The journey is a mix of ups and downs, smiles and tears, still a sweet one and without Few Miles, I am nothing. Today, I am glad to have published two of my short stories - 'The Last Date’ & ‘120 Minutes’ in anthologies. I wish that in near future or before I turn 30, to publish my first novel. Stay with me my dear readers, friends and well-wishers.

Thank you all! Let's celebrate!

#449 – Stubble Trouble – Group Discussion

Sid introduced himself before addressing the rookies. He wrote the agenda of the day on the board, then looked at the rookies, and asked them to divide into a batch of six people for group discussion activity. Confusion prevailed, so he divided the groups and allocated each group a topic and supervisors.

“Stubble Trouble – let’s start the discussion – one person at a time.” Sid said.

“Good morning! I am Arphita. We live in a society, where a man’s moustache shows manliness. But I hate that unclean stubble and moustache. I feel men look better without it.”

“Hello. This is Sahana. I second Arphita.”

“Sarav here…I feel moustache is the mirror of heart. Stubble makes a man genius.”

“I, Ram, second Sarav.”

“I am Vidhya. I oppose what Sarav said. Stubble free face shines amongst others. It shows that they are clean inside.”

“I second Vidhya. Look at me. I look cool in my clean-shaven look. By the way, I am Remo.” Arphita and Vidhya giggled. Sid warned them.

“Consider Buddha, his preaching, his posture, his look…his clean face reflects his clean heart.” Vidhya said waving her hands. Arphita acknowledged, “I strongly agree.” Remo, too, acknowledged with his smile.

The discussion heated up as Sarav, Vidhya, Arphita and Ram fought with words. Sid interfered, “Time up. Sarav summarize.”

“The topic is Stubble Trouble. Arphita, Sahana, Vidhya, and Remo spoke in favour of the topic. They supported it well with awesome statistics. Ram and I spoke against the topic, and after a couple of intense arguments, Ram changed his view and I became the lonely warrior. Overall, this was a healthy discussion, and I understand, that, we live in a century, where a clean-shaven man wins hands down.”

Everybody clapped. Sid picked Sarav and Vidhya as winners and awarded them pen set.

Chapter: Chatterbox

After a half-an-hour break, they started to Bangalore. Ramya sat in the front seat, as Sahana slept comfortably in the back seat.

“You look damn smart!” Ramya said to Rahul.

“Thank you dear!” Rahul said

“To say the truth, you are damn sexy. I feel like kissing you.” Ramya came close to Rahul and implanted a kiss on his cheeks.

“Yet another girl kissed the Rockstar.” He put his tongue out, but deep inside his heart, he was happy as his clean shaven look bowled her over.

“Yet another girl? What’s the count?” Ramya asked curiously.

“I think close to one thousand. Maybe more, or may not be…” Rahul chuckled.

Ramya burned in anger. “One thousand girls…and you are saying maybe more. Uff!” After a short pause, she added, “How many girls have you slept with?”

“I haven’t slept with any woman. Trust me. I am still a virgin. Those one thousand girls is the count from my childhood and most of them are aunties and my fans.” He said, she stared at him, and he added more spice to it. “I am still an eligible bachelor.”

“I believe you.” She said rolling her eyes.

“Trust me Ramya. I am not a person who sleeps with all the girls. I am still waiting for my angel. I wish to find her soon.” The honesty in his words reflected in the eyes.

“I trust you.” She said. And the chat continued till she slept.

Stubble Trouble - The Game

“Let’s put our hands together to welcome the winner of G-Game Awards!” said the host, Shivani of G-Game Awards.

Sid entered into the arena, walked past the audience, stopped in VIP Section, hugged the CEO of G-Game Awards and went up the stairs. Everybody clapped. Shivani said, “Please share a few words about the award, the source of inspiration for creating a fantastic android game and its success story. The stage is all yours!”

He stood in front of the dais, and said, “Thank you Shivani.” He cleared his throat and added, “I thank Mr Sharath, the CEO of G-Game Awards, for this initiative. It encourages young app developers like me to give that extra effort to achieve. I thank my parents for supporting me endlessly. Last but not the least I would like to thank my first crush. Hadn’t she rejected me for that stubble, this would not have happened. She is the source of inspiration for creating this android game; a simple game that features a man with stubble and a woman with a razor, and yet it topped the list in the number of downloads this year and got me this award.”

“Thank you Sid. You are a true inspiration to all youngsters. By the way, do you like stubble?” Shivani asked, smiling.

“Well… I hate that unclean stubble.” He said with a sharp smile

“Do you think you first crush will watch this award ceremony?” Shivani asked mischievously.

“Of course, she will.”

“Wow! But how do you know that?”

“Because she is my girlfriend now,” He blushed, as his clean-shaven look bowled her over and made her change the decision, and from that day, he clean-shaved daily.

“Get rid of the stubble guys. Your life will shine like your face.” He said and left the arena.

Chapter: The Travel

“What’s the time now?” Ramya asked, angrily.

“Well…my watch is not working. I am sorry.” Rahul said, as usual, carelessly.

“You dog, cat, rat…We’ve been waiting here for the past ten minutes. Don’t you know it is unsafe for girls to wait outside at night?” Ramya frowned at Rahul.

Rahul opened the car door, went to Ramya and hugged her. “Sorry babe. I was buying gifts for Sahana and you.”

Sahana cooled down. Sahana and Ramya got into car smiling. Rahul gifted chocolate boxes, t-shirts of his band and hats to Ramya and Sahana. They thanked him.

“At what time we will be reaching Bangalore.” Sahana asked in a husky voice.

“We should reach Bangalore by two or three in the morning. I have booked a room in a five star hotel close to the concert stadium.”

“Only one room,” Sahana small eyes bulged bigger and her hands shivered.

“Yes, only one room. What’s the problem?” Rahul gave a quizzical smile.

“How can we stay with a guy?” Sahana asked literally having tears in her eyes.

“Chill babe. I am not going to hit on you guys.” Rahul bit his lips.

“But,” Sahana said, cutting her short, Ramya said, “We are okay. Anyway make sure you are not raped by us.”

Rahul burst into laughter and said, “I booked that room for you. I have a dedicated room in the stadium.” He put his tongue out.

Sahana looked at him, as if she wants to have him for dinner again. Ramya whispered in Rahul ears that his clean shaven looked bowled her over. And they both laughed at Sahana and she buried her face inside the t-shirt blushing, as she was caught. By that time, they reached Vellore Bus Depot, and Rahul stopped the car for the loo break.

A Friend for Life!

There is this beautiful saying in Tamil, “உன் நண்பன் யார் என்று சொல். நீ யாரென்று சொல்கிறேன்.” Literal translation in English is, “Tell me who your friend is. I‘ll tell you who you are!” That I second. I was lucky enough to find a pearl in my life, while chatting anonymously on a chatting website.

[TheRock_ -> Queen of Hearts]: “Heya!”
[Queen of Hearts -> TheRock_]: “Hello!”
[TheRock_ -> Queen of Hearts]: How was your day?
[Queen of Hearts -> TheRock_]: Good. Where are you from?
[TheRock_ -> Queen of Hearts]: I am from India. Currently, I am living in London. What about you?
[Queen of Hearts -> TheRock_]: Wow! London. I am from India.

Her chat tone changed. In less than ten minutes, she became comfortable in chatting with me. And she added me on gTalk.

Sahana: Hellow
me: Thanks for the add.
Sahana: I am glad to find a good person. What’s the time now?
me: The time is quarter past one in the morning. I guess it is half past five in India.
Sahana: Yesh!

The chat continued until mid-day. I was glad to find someone with whom I could chat for hours. She was happy, as she found a good friend. : P Life suddenly started to blossom like a sunflower. We chatted almost all day. Sooner, we became thick friends. We trusted each other blindly and shared all secrets between us.

We were everywhere – gTalk, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and Skype. We chatted on gTalk during the daytime, or at times on Facebook, posted (spammed) on each other wall, Retweeted or mentioned the other, and when the fingers needed a break, we talked on Skype, and played guessing game on Whatsapp before going to sleep; a game that could be played only by Sid and Sahana. She sent random words to me to guess what made her type that. Or a synonym to her word, not exactly though.

Sid: This is just an imagination. I am feeling like you are here, sitting next to me. Okay?
Sahana: Weird imagination, okay.
Sid: You need to feel this or else this will be just texts.
Sahana: Ohw
Sid: Hmmm
Sahana: Hah!
Sid: Hmmm
Sid: Pink?
Sahana: Pink for?
Sid: That's the game
Sid: For?
Sahana: I am asking you
Sahana: You said pink
Sid: I'll say a word. You have to reply the first word that strikes on your mind after reading it.
Sahana: Ohw start
Sahana: Okay I will start.
Sahana: Butterflies
Sid: Hope
Sahana: Train
Sid: Journey
Sahana: You are slow
Sid: Yes
Sahana: Wait
Sid: Okay
Sahana: First, you ask
Sid: Okay
Sahana: Then when you end, I’ll ask
Sid: Okay
Sid: Rain
Sahana: Drops
Sid: Sweet
Sahana: Nothings
Sid: Night
Sahana: Wondrous
Sid: Earth
Sahana: Shadow
Sid: Maa
Sahana: Mumzee
Sid: Books
Sahana: First love
Sid: Love
Sahana: Illusion
Sid: Ha-ha life?
Sahana: Inexplicable!
Sid: Sid

Sahana: My turn?
Sid: Okay, Queen of Hearts!
Sahana: Drama

Chapter: Concert

“Ms Virgin, I am going to perform in a live concert in Bangalore tomorrow. Do you like to join?”

Ramya looked at Sahana and asked, “Are you coming with us?”

Rahul replied to Ramya, “She said okay already.”

“What? Are you sure?” Ramya said.

“Yes Ramya. Sahana is performing with me.” Rahul said.

Ramya was shocked and upset. “But you never said this to me!” A teardrop fell from her left eye, “You guys cheated me. Okay, I am not coming.” She stared at Sahana angrily.

“Chill babe. It’s a lie. I met her in canteen this morning. I asked if both of you are willing to join. She said okay if you are coming. Nothing else happened. I just tried to pull your legs.”

Sahana laughed, I too, and Ramya smiled with tears in her eyes. “Okay, let’s meet tonight at 10 PM outside our hostel. We will fly in my car.” Rahul said.

“Okay. But I am not coming.” Ramya said. Rahul gave a quizzical smile. “I am not coming with an old man.” Ramya added.

“Oh…that stubble? I was bit busy practising for the concert.”

She still gave that look. “You know right I hate that unclean stubble…then?” After a pause Rahul added, “Okay…okay, I am going to salon now.”

Her lips curved a little and then yes. Sahana said, “Okay hero. Let’s meet at 10 PM”

Chapter: Friends

“Okay, let’s be friends.” Rahul said to Ramya and Sahana. Sahana smiled, Ramya replied, “Friends right? Then buy us ice-creams.” *Tongue out*

“Sure. Let’s go to canteen then.”

“No canteen business Rahul. Let’s go to Shona." (A famous ice cream parlour in Chennai)

“Okay, let’s go then.” He drove the car to Shona. Ramya sat in the front seat, while Sahana sat in the back seat. Her long face told that she is upset of Ramya. So to cheer up, Rahul asked, “What’s your favourite flavour Sweetie…Sahana?”

Her face lit up by a smile from his heart. “My…” Sahana said, Ramya, cutting her short, and said, “She does not have any favourite flavour and all. She will any eat anything.”

“And you?”

“I love strawberry. You know why, it looks like my lips. In college, my classmates call me strawberry lips.” She narrated a short bio of her lips and hips, which was cut short by a car that buzzed away in the intersection. Luckily, Rahul applied the brake at the right time.

After a minute of silence, Ramya asked, “Do you like moustache?"

“Nah, I hate moustache. In fact, I hate that unclean stubble.”

“Oh, okay. I like clean men!” Ramya said. *Tongue out*

By that time, they reached Shona. “Order please!” Rahul said looking into Sahana’s eyes.

“Butterscotch,” Sahana said, turning to Ramya, Rahul asked, “Strawberry for Ms Strawberry lips right?”

“Of course strawberry, for the most beautiful girl here,” Ramya replied, and he ordered.

“Am I right? Ms no?” Sahana laughed closing her lips. She looked cute.

“Hehe I am still a virgin.” Ramya Said. He laughed as everybody there heard what she said, which she realised a bit later, after everybody looked at her in a different way. And from then they became good friends.

Chapter: Introduction

“He is super cute.” Sahana said to Ramya.

“Those flat six-pack aps, those broad muscled arms, that dimpled cheeks, those childlike cute pair of eyes, and his clean shaven look bowled me over completely…he is my dream boy.” Ramya said.

“Hello… I too like him. Let’s see to whom he is going to fall in love. Till then, he is a public property.” Sahana and Ramya, the most beautiful girls of the college, fought with each other for a place in Rahul’s heart.

Rahul, a guitarist, the heartthrob of the college having six-packs, and dimpled cheeks, met Sahana and Ramya, his college juniors, in the park when they were fighting with each other for him.

“Hi… By the way, I am Rahul.”
“Hi, I am Sahana. I am Ramya…Ramya, I am a good singer,” they said nervously.
“Come let’s jog.” He said. They joined him.
“How is it going?”

“Sir, you are an amazing singer. Sir, actually, I like you so much!” Sahana said, her lips curved, and she blushed.

“Rahul, I saw you playing guitar. You are just amazing. I have fallen in love with you.” Ramya shot like a fully loaded pistol.

“Uff… Now, I have to add two more girls to the list. I am sick of this.” Rahul said.

“Sir…” Sahana tried to speak, and Ramya said, “Chill senior. Let’s be friends first. Shall we?”

He stretched his hand to handshake with her, and then to Sahana. They continued to jog, as they spoke about their school life, likes, dislikes, etc., and they left the park after the jogging session.

Chapter: Memories

“Sir, we lost the deal.” His PA said to Rahul. Rahul raised his head up, his eyes filled with tears, and he scratched his beard and said, “That’s not new for us.”

“Sir, I am quitting my job.”

“But, this is new to me,” Rahul hugged him for one last time, after which his PA left the office thanking him for all good that he has done so far.

“Maybe, I am born to lose.” Rahul said to himself. He puts his coat on and walked to his favourite bar, where he was welcomed by the barman. He sat on one of the high stools, and ordered a whisky shot. The barman brought him his favourite whisky brand on the rocks. He thanked him. Sipping it little by little, he travelled down his memory lane. All old golden memories flashed before his eyes – his college days, his six-pack body, and the clean-shaven look and of course, Ramya and Sahana. He smiled and signalled the barman to repeat the order. This happened for ten times, by that time the bar was closed, so he was asked to leave.

Walking on the way back to his home, he saw the park where he spent most of his life, and so he went inside the park and sat on the same bench he used to sit in his college days. He scratched his beard and said, “I hate this unclean stubble. I should get a clean shaven look soon.”

He looked all over the park, “Memories!” He said to himself and slipped into it.

The Dad's Girl

His dream is to spend each minute with his newly born baby girl. He likes to play with her, to hold her in his arms, to kiss her cheeks, and watch her cute expressions, but his job did not give him many chances. And whenever he got a chance, all that happened is that his baby was pulling his long beard. Everybody in his home thought that the baby likes the beard, so he started growing his beard longer hoping his baby would play pulling his beard. And his baby too did the same.

The days rolled along. His baby girl grew faster than he expected, and she started speaking. “Kuthu Kuthu” (Hit Hit), she said to him. He assumed that his baby likes to hit him, so he grabbed her hands and started hitting his cheeks, and this continued forever. She either pulled his beard or said those words whenever possible.

She grew faster. Just a day before her sixteenth birthday, she wrote,

“Dear Diary,

I am turning sixteen tomorrow. I have a long list of wishes this time too. Hope it will come true soon.

• I know papa likes his very long beard a lot. But I hate that unclean stubble. I have said this to papa many times during my kindergarten days, but he did not understand. After realising that he likes his beard a lot, I stopped saying it, as he is the sweetest dad in the world. I wish, at least for this birthday, he should get a clean-shaven look.
"

She listed sixteen wishes in her diary before she fell asleep.

In the morning:
“Happy Birthday Sweetie…”
“Oh my daddy, you look so smart today,” she exclaims. He smiles, that at least, after sixteen years, he could realise the reason for pulling his beard.

A day with Tablet! #betterway

Life of IT Professional with a Tablet is like tablets to sugar patients. It is mandatory to consume one daily. Otherwise, you may end up paying a huge price. I am not an exception to deny Tablet in my life, as my day starts with the smart alarm set in my Tablet. Though it is hard to get up early in the morning in this part of the world, still my smart alarm makes sure that I am off bed within ten minutes of the actual alarm time. There is a secret behind those ten minutes.

Can you guess? The secret is the struggle to reach the Tablet, and then switching it off. I wished turning off alarm is handled in a #betterway. Maybe, a voice command could have made life easier.

Being a music lover, the first thing I do after waking up is to switch on the music player. I had created exclusive playlists for each day of the week comprising of my favourite songs. Usually, I go on with it, but sometimes I may switch between playlists, according to the swing of my mood. And that’s where the struggle is. Maybe a #betterway of handling the Tablet (if it can stand on its own) could have made mornings better.

After a refreshing warm bathe, I offer prayer to God. Then I sit down to have my breakfast as well as check updates on social networks. Sometimes…nah, most of the times, my wife scolds me for either dropping the Tablet or spilling milk from the bowl, while I immerse myself on social networks. Maybe a #betterway of holding the Tablet (if I can hold easily) could have made breakfast time merrier.

And that’s when my smart alarm reminds that all I have is ten minutes to get ready and rush otherwise I would miss my bus. I slip into a thermal wear first, and then I put my pants on, belt and shirt to follow, and finally the winter clothes. Mobile phones inside the pocket, Tablet on one hand, and grabbing the tiffin box bag from my wife, I run to bus stop, only to see the bus leaving the bus stop. I hasten my steps, if am lucky, I would get in. Otherwise, I would wait for the next. Whatever happens, either inside the bus or in the bus stop, I take a corner seat to read news. Maybe a #betterway of viewing a Tablet (if I can adjust the angle) could have made the reading experience better.

I intend not to use my personal Tablet at office. But at times, I have to prepare presentations during the travel, or to send emails after a meeting, for which, I use my Tablet. It is quite handy, but the real issue is the touch screen. All unwanted items pop up while working, which irritates a lot. Maybe a #betterway to view the Tablet (if I can hold it tight) could have made meetings tensionless.

I prefer to watch videos during lunchtime. But holding the Tablet and having my lunch is always a headache. Maybe a #betterway to stand the Tablet could have made lunch pleasant.

On the way back home, I either browse online or play games (Angry Birds or any Car Race), but the problem is placing the Tablet at a good angle, which is always a reason for losing car races. Maybe, if the design is made in a #betterway (to place the Tablet on lap) could have made me a clear winner.

Generally, I prefer to have a coffee after reaching home and then I speak on Skype with the sweetest cutest selfless soul in the world – Ma. Usually, I speak for twenty to thirty minutes, but on certain days, we may speak up to an hour with my parents and in-laws. On such occasions my hand ache like anything, though my wife and I are happy, as we speak a lot with our parents. Maybe a #betterway to hold…nah to stand the Tablet could have made me enjoy the moment.

We have our dinner at around 8 PM. After which, either I read books or write poems. It’s a headache to take the laptop out and type, so I prefer to write using Tablet. At times, when I face writer’s block, I search for the perfect word in my mind for hours, and in the meantime, my Tablet would be running out of battery, which irritates a lot, and typing on Tablet adds the fuel to the irritated heart. There are times, where I have literally thrown the Tablet on the bed, and went to sleep. Maybe a Tablet that could run up to 18 – 20 hours (of battery life) in a day and provide a better touch interaction could have helped me stay in peace. Writing is peace. Love is peace. I want to be in peace, a #betterway to lead a happy life.

Did Lenovo hear me? I think they did or else why did they introduce the world’s first multi-mode Tablet, which is easy to hold like never before, stand anywhere, and tilt like I always wanted to, and has a battery life up to 18 hours?

Yes, A #BETTERWAY IS HERE

Coffee Date - The End

Chapter: The End!

With just two days left for my travel, I was all set for the US Trip. I packed everything, almost everything I had in the house, so that I could dump them in Krish’s place and leave to US. Just before closing the door, I heard her voice again, this time from the bedroom, “How many times I have to say that I hate that unclean stubble?”

Tears oozed out from my eyes, but somehow I managed to control my emotions, as my brain know that she passed away in a car accident last month, but my idiotic heart is yet fooling itself saying that she is still alive.

Krish came there in his van, with a small curve on his face he asked, “Have you done with packing?”

Again, in tears, I said, “Yes, almost everything is packed, except my memories, which is still living with Isha in this home.”

“Compose yourself Sid. She is just a memory, not your life. Start living your life.” His words irritated me, but I did not say anything in return, as I could understand his care. My lips curved a little. We loaded everything in his van and started to his home.

Once again, I heard her voice from back, “Good luck Sid. I love you and will love you forever.”

If it wasn’t for my unclean stubble, we had a fantastic life. But that does not mean she loved me just because my clean shaven look bowled her over. She loved my heart more with a heart full of love and that’s the reason for my wet eyes. She was the first and perhaps the last one to love me in that way. She will always live in my diary, as my First and Sweet Coffee Date.

Special Gifts to His Princess

He woke up to the weeping sounds. He looked around, his wife is sound asleep, and so he got up, walked past the door following the direction of the weeping sound, only to find that his thirteen-year-old child is suffering from menstrual pain.

Why only girls have to suffer this much of pain monthly? Why? God. Only God has to answer. He said to himself. He lay on the sofa in tears, without knowing what to do. Actually, he knows he really cannot do anything about it. His princess is ageing 13, and the next ten years is going to decide her rest of the life. So the special gifts to his princess:

Unconditional Love:
“A Girl’s Best Friend is her Dad.” The utmost care he shows on God’s special gift, the unconditional love towards his princess, is the priceless gift he could bestow on his child.

Quality Education and Career:
To achieve anything and everything in this competitive world, education is the base, which is now available only at high cost, and to harbour her dream of becoming a doctor, is not easy, even if she has good grades. He has forecasted this, when she first took a plastic stethoscope, and listened his heartbeats. That night, he called his friend and gifted a good education policy to her.

Good Health:
“A healthy mind is the healthy body!” Acquiring knowledge is the secret of a healthy mind, but that alone would not suffice. Healthy food, proper diet, clean environment, and a good health insurance policy is must!

Good Life Partner:
For a girl, life restarts on her wedding day, until then she walks holding the safest pair of hands in this world. To give a good start, he needs a special person who can treat his princess a queen, and lots of money to make it grand. He knew this when he first received his angel in his hands, and from that day he saved money and invested in good Children's Marriage Plan.

Unlimited Happiness:
Happiness cannot be measured by any devices in this world. Happiness is a heart-to-heart conversation that can be expressed by a gentle curve on the face that lit up eyes, and the reason could be a small doll, or the biggest of biggest teddy bears, or a gentle hug. Whatever it is, happiness at the cost of everything is the best gift to his princess.

Above all, regardless of the anything in this world, the best gift is the TRUST on his child, irrespective of the situation, because for any relationship, trust is the base, love is the building blocks, and happiness is the most welcomed outcome.

He may not be able to fight with God to rewrite the injustice to Girls, but he can do everything else to keep her princess happy.

Chapter: Just married!

It was a simple registered marriage. Krish, Sanitha, Rahul, Ankita were present to sign on our behalf. All of them are my close friends, and only people to know about our relationship. At half past ten in the morning, we met in the registrar office as planned. Since we booked a slot well in advance, there was no much formality left. We exchanged jasmine garlands, and with three knots and two signatures, we became into one, to start a colorful life. After the marriage ceremony, we booked a car (Just Married) to Sri Venkateshwara Perumal Temple, and then to Iskon Temple with our friends. We offered special prayer to God, performed puja for good life and later had food donated by akshayapatra.org

It was a tiring day. But that night was not meant to sleep. It was for the exploration of life under candlelights. It was not a new exploration for us, but the setting was new, the fragrance was new, the flowers were new, and so were Isha and I. We lost in each other’s eyes, lay in each other’s hand, made love passionately. Not only, my clean shaven look bowled her over, but also made her feel loved. And that night became the most special night in our life!

The Three Musketeers

Ram, Sam and Lon are the three musketeers of Nagavedu – a small village down in the south of Tamil Nadu. They have only one ambition in life, one common dream, which is to marry a fair girl. For that, they tried all the tips and tricks they know and yet they failed 33 times in total, each of them contributing equally. Frustrated three musketeers, without any hope, decided to run away from home. And as decided, they went to Mumbai, where they met Isha, a popular fashion designer, to whom they narrated their story.

“33 is a small number. Actually, 11 each, which is very less compared to my 28. I mean I rejected twenty-eight proposals in the past seven years.” Isha said to them.

“You are a genius madam.” Ram said.

“Thank you. I am not a genius. I am just experienced.” Isha laughed and continued, “The first thing a girl would say after looking at any of you is Are they cavemen?”

All the three put their heads down. Isha smiles, “Don’t feel embarrassed. We are living in an era where girls say I hate that unclean stubble. But what is there on your face is something worse than beard.”

After a short-pause, “You guys aren’t that bad looking. Firstly, we need to work on your outlook, and then I am sure you guys will be a hit!”

Their faces lit up with happiness. Isha groomed them with the help of her team. The new charm worked out well, as each of them got a good job. And in three months, they found a love of their choice. Isha spotted them in either a clean-shaven look or more of a trimmed look with their special ones at different places and they lived happily ever after!

Chapter: Let's get married!

“Okay. Let’s gets married then!”
“Are you sure?” She asked with a puzzled smile.
“Yes. Let's marry. I will raise a dependent visa for you.”
Her face lit up with smile. “But, I cannot apply for leave for more than 3 months.”
“Apply for three months then. Let’s create our family.” I hugged her from behind. A big smile came on her face and she kissed me on my forehead, and then on the lips.

“If that car brake worked on that dreadful day, I would have a family now. Ma and Pa, both of them, are close to me. I miss them a lot.” A teardrop fell from her left eye. I helped her with a glass of water, and she continued, “I dreamed of marrying a prince in their presence, but now, they are not with me.”

“I do not know what to say Isha. I am not lucky enough to see my Ma and Pa. I had cried for years. I missed them a lot. I felt jealous when my school friends brought their Ma’s and Pa’s to PTA meetings. I have a diary full of words of tears.” She hugged me tight and said, “Let’s not talk about this. I am glad I am marrying a Prince; the prince of my cute little heart!”

I blushed. “See here, someone is blushing...” she started teasing me.
“Oh yeah, it’s your Prince!” I said.

“Yesh, he is a prince with unclean stubble.” She complained my unclean stubble again. I pressed my cheek against her cheek again. *Tongue out*

“Ouch! It hurts. I hate that unclean stubble Sid.”

I laughed and said, “Chill Isha. I promise to clean shave daily after we marry.” She hugged me tight. And that ended the day on a high note.

Chapter: Silence

It’s one month now since Isha moved into my place. Time flew like a bird out of the cage. No words could describe my happiness, so I was writing a poem in my diary, and I caught her looking at me. So I went close to her and asked, “What did Noah say to you?”

“Noah did not say anything to me.” She mumbled.

It was one of those bad days, which she preferred to wipe out from her brain and heart. I know the reason for her sadness. Whenever she was upset, she reads her favourite novel The Notebook. To break the ice, I placed my cheek on her cheek and pressed it a little.

“Ouch! It hurts idiot. Don’t you know that I hate that unclean stubble?”
“Chillax babe. What’s running on your mind?” I asked

She pushed me down, lay on my bare chest and said, “I am bit worried Sid.”
“Why? What happened to you?” I said, as if I do not know what’s in her mind.
“What will I do here, if you go to onsite?”

Silence was my only answer. She waited for a minute, after that she got up and went to take a fresh bath. And you know what girls take an hour to bath and another hour to make-up, even at nights.

Chapter: ♥ ♥ ♥

That night we made love for the first time. Unexpected, unaware of what we were doing, we made love.

“Still your stubble tickles!”
“I shaved this morning.”
“Haan, still it is tickling, when you kissed my waist.”

I kissed her again. I took my razor to clean shave again. This time, I shaved in reverse direction, to make it smooth.
In the meantime, she took out my diary and read, “Coffee Date”

She asked, “Do you write?” After a very small pause, “You write poems!”
“Haan, I write for my girl.”
She gave a quizzical smile. I said, “I write for you.”
“Okay, let me read.” She looked into the diary with her curious eyes.
“It reads like a mega serial.” She said mischievously.

“Life itself a serial, suspense, a game, music, a book, and it can be interpreted in thousand different ways.”
“I think you will be a bestseller someday.” She said. I laughed.

“Oh my God! I hate that unclean stubble!” She said in a high tone, “Do you even write a copy of your Facebook status and notes in your diary?”

“Yes. I preserve every moment that happened between us.”

She threw the diary, came over to me, hugged me and said, “I love you so much dear!” “I love you Isha!”
After a minute or two, she raised her head and asked, “Are you going to write what we did today?”

“Yes………….”
She pushed me, took a spatula from kitchen and came running behind me. I caught her, pushed her on the bed, and asked, “Don’t you like it?”
She blushed. “I do.”

I smiled. “I will write that his clean shaven look bowled me over again and we made love that night!”

She blushed again and we slept together for one more time.

Chapter: All is well ♥ ♥ ♥

They say, “Love make life beautiful!” That I second!

Life became more beautiful after she moved into my place. The new customer accepted my solution proposal. She appreciated my presence of mind while answering her questions, the way I handled her doubts, my professional attire and finally, my clean shaven look bowled her over. Because of this, my appraisal rating was changed. I got an additional salary hike. My work permit application was accepted. I won a Book My Show voucher worth thousand rupees in a Twitter contest. Above all, I slept holding hands of the most beautiful girl in the world.

“What a change over mama!” I exclaimed. Krish tapped on my shoulder and shouted, “Good job dude! I definitely need a treat.” Isha also joined the club. I was left with no choice. :( I too accepted their idea.

“Dominos Pizza” Isha said in high tone, Krish too, and I drove the car to Dominos Pizza. We sat at the corner table ordered one Double Cheese Margherita, one Country Special and one Farm House topped with extra Cheese. While we were waiting for pizza’s to get prepared, we noticed two girls sitting opposite to us had their gaze remained fixed on me. One was looking as if she wants to eat me instead of pizza, which clearly irritated Isha. “See his clean shaven look bowled her over!” Both Krish and me laughed at Isha. And the outcome was the change of places - my back faced them and my heart to Isha, ever and forever!

We ate peacefully, after which, I dropped Krish at his place and drove to our home happily.

Chapter: Living together ♥ ♥ ♥

The next day I raised a work permit request as advised by my manager. I was also requested to present a solution proposal with the sales team. I was happy as I got more opportunities to prove myself. And in the evening, I helped Isha to move in to my place. After all, she was staying alone in her P.G. Her one and only friend, whom she calls didi, moved to Pune recently and she lost her parents in a car accident last year, after which she almost forgot to smile. It took months to make her smile again and glad to be the reason for her happiness.

And at half past ten in the night, she came into my room and said, “Hello”
“Tell me dear. Are you comfortable with the room?” I asked.
“Yeah, I am okay” she said.
“Cool. I believe you must be tired by now. Have a good sleep.”

She laughed mischievously, came over me, hugged me and said, “I love every bit of you,” she paused for two seconds and then added, “except that I hate that unclean stubble of yours.”

Her lips so close to my lips. “I know that my clean shaven look bowled you over again and again.” I sealed her cute rosebud lips with mine powerfully. And after that passionate kiss, we slept together holding hands of each other happily.

Chapter: Life sounds beautiful!

And we met in the same costa coffee again.

“Hey, you look beautiful today.” She blushed. (A blushing girlfriend can win anything from her boyfriend.)

“I will get coffee for us.” I said. She got up immediately and said, “Dear wait, today, I am getting for you!” I shouted happily in silence. She left her phone on the table. Keypad unlocked. I took it to lock, but instead read a half-typed message to her sister, “Didi, he is looking damn sexy. I feel like kissing him right away. His clean shaven look bowled me over again.” I kept her mobile phone back on the table and flew to seventh heaven. After a couple of minutes, she came back with two cups of cappuccino, placed it on the table, shifted the chair close to me, and sat on that.

“You look cute when you blush. I mean when you smile.” She blushed more like any time before and said, “You are the sole reason for me to smile again when I almost forgot to.”

“I want you to live my life with you Isha. Will you agree to live together with me?”

She nodded her head in affirmative. I stretched my hand around her shoulder, held her close, kissed on her cheeks, and said, “I love you.”

My mobile phone beeped. “You’ve a new text message.” And it read, “Raise your work permit tomorrow, as it will take two months to complete the process.” I was happy as all good things happened to us!

Chapter: That's what clean shaven look blessed me!

My clean shaven look bowled her as well as my colleagues. Everyone was surprised to see me in a new avatar.

“Dude, you look cool today,” said Shiv. I thanked him and moved to my cubicle. On the way, I met Nazriya, she shouted, “Someone is looking so cool today.” I blushed a bit.

Finally, I met my manager and said that I am okay with whatever hike I got. She hugged and thanked me and said, “You are looking damn hot hero! What did your girl say to you?” I shouted happily in silence. She smiled and informed me about an onsite opportunity which I was waiting for years. I thanked her. She congratulated me saying that this could be the opportunity which can get me all I want and conveyed her good wishes for my success. I thanked her again. By the time I came out of my manager’s room, I was flying somewhere between Seventh Heaven and Cloud Nine. Maybe, just maybe, the clean shaven look was working out not only in my personal life but also in my professional life.

I called Isha on her mobile phone and informed the happy news. I checked if we can meet over a cup of coffee that evening. I guess God’s sitting on my shoulder as she accepted the offer and congratulated me with three beautiful kisses. I was happy for all that happened that day, but deep inside my heart, I was wondering, if long distance relationship would work or not.
