Isha untied a slender red thread from her wrist—a lucky charm worn through years of exams—and wrapped it around Sid’s thumb. "Take this," she whispered, her eyes clear and unhurried. "Whenever you doubt whose side the universe is on." Sid touched the thread, then softly caught her fingers against his palm. "My universe is standing right in front of me." They slipped into the hallway, parting with subtle, secret glances. In a crowded school of hundreds, they carried an empire built for two.
