The Lingering Glow

"You really are my safest place."

"Why glow-in-the-dark?" Isha whispered, fingers trailing the luminous paint on paper. Sid smiled, his breath warm against the chill of the abandoned room. "Because sunlight makes everything visible to the world. But in the dark, only the true light remains." "Philosopher Sid," she teased softly, leaning her forehead against his chest. His heartbeat answered, rhythmic and steady. Outside, footsteps clicked along the corridor. Sid gently pulled her behind the heavy mahogany door, hands intertwined, breaths held tight. The footsteps faded into distance. Isha looked up into his eyes, whispering, "You really are my safest place."
