✦ 55-Fiction · Mystery

The yellowed envelope arrived seventy years late. Inside lay a telegram dated August 1944: "Meet me at the pier before midnight. I survived." Grandmother wept as she touched the faded signature. She had married the village postmaster in 1946. Looking toward grandfather's portrait, she whispered, "You hid his letter. You kept me all your life."

A 55-Fiction is a micro-story told in exactly 55 words — no more, no less. Every word earns its place.
