Day 12 ♥ Happiness is Reading a New Book!

Happiness is Reading a New Book!

Happiness is the excitement of reading a new book. It's like meeting new people, travelling to the most favourite tourist destination, riding a bike with a complete stranger, or whatever and it depends on people. To me it is like meeting new people, getting to know them, and living their lives through the characters in the book. Such is my love for book!

Choosing a new book based on the blurb, reviews, and ratings, and finally deciding to buy it, is a great feeling. Sometimes, as a book reviewer, I receive author-signed copies, which is a special feeling. But what happened today was even more satisfying. A colleague and his friend came to me in the morning and gave me a book called "Confession of a Buddhist Atheist" by Stephen Batchelor, saying that they weren't sure what kind of books I liked, but based on my writing, they thought I would enjoy something outside of my usual genre. I was really touched and thanked them from the bottom of my heart. If I've to echo their words, here you go...

“We are not sure what kind of book you read, but from your writing we can very well understand that you love romance. So we thought why not gift a book from a genre that’s totally opposite to what you read and gave me a book – Confession of a Buddhist Atheist by Stephen Batchelor.”

I glowed in happiness and thanked them from my heart and soul. I'm looking forward to starting the book tonight and writing a review once I finish..

Before starting a book, I usually feel a mix of excitement and anticipation. I'm eager to dive into the story and see what it has in store for me. After completing the book, I typically feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. If the book was particularly good, I may also feel a sense of longing as I come to the end of the story and have to say goodbye to the characters and world that the book has introduced me to. How will you feel before starting a book? And after completing a book? Post in the comment section!

And here is a small poem dedicated to Vidhya…

Books excites me within,
Just like you do to me;
When every time I feel upset,
You make me feel happy!

The characters live inside,
And make me smile and cry;
Like you rule my heart,
And make me go mad in love!
