‘Hello! ... Young man, are you ok? Hello…’ a good-hearted old woman tried to bring me back to this world but… her try resulted in vain so she slapped me. ‘Huhhh’ that slap brought me back to this world and my tired eyes greeted her with a ‘Hello’.
‘You seem to be upset with something’ she said sitting next to me but I did not utter any word. She tapped on my shoulder and said, ‘Son, I don’t know what’s your problem is but it is not good to keep them in your heart so please share it with me’ but instead of words, I answered her with a teardrop. She helped me with her kerchief wishing that things would be ok soon. She took my dairy from my lap and as soon as she opened it, she found the reason for my sadness, so she said, ‘Who is the girl? What happened to her?’ First, I kept silent but she insisted me more to know about her. ‘Can I call you as my grandmother because you look like’, she nodded her head and once again asked me about the girl. So I….
It all started on the first day of my college life when I was praying God to bless me success in all my endeavours, and when I opened my eyes, I saw an angel standing before me in pale pink salwar kameez praying to God. Her wavy hair with a couple of strands dancing here and there in air, tiny little ears, rosy cheeks, a perfect rose bud lips generated few millilitres of hormones in me and when she opened her heart stealing eyes I lost myself in her. Is she a human being or an angel...? I was confused and really wanted someone to pinch me because I was mesmerized completely be her hypnotic eyes.
‘Hi. This is Hassini’, she said, ‘Hii… Hai… Sid... sorry Siddesh’ I stammered, and before I utter the next word her mom came so we smiled at each other and left the temple. But I never know I was lucky enough to be her classmate until our lunch hour, I exclaimed in happiness. Days rolled sooner than I expected and whenever we met, we exchanged smiles because our eyes conveyed the words that we have for the other.
I never know October 5th would be special but it is, as usual the day started with cool dewdrops, as I stepped out of my home to start to college. I was wearing a sky blue shirt and dark trousers. I started walking towards the bus stop and got into bus. It moved very slowly because of the ups and downs in the roads, I suddenly noticed that minute hand of my watch edged towards ‘3’ and the other just passed ‘8’. Peeping through the window, I noticed Hassini, my dream girl was riding on scooty pep. Without my knowledge, my eyes started admiring her beauty, within seconds (only for me) the bus stopped, and I got down from the bus. Entering the college, I saw Hassini was at the other end of the same pathway, so I hastened my steps with the boot sounding loud and turned left that took me nearer to her. In the meanwhile, she slowed her steps as she noticed me rushing towards her. When we met in same line, smiled at each other and I never know that, it would take another 90 seconds to cover the rest 12 meters to reach their classroom but it happened.
Because we both walked like tortoise smiling at each other, she said, 'Sid, how was your physics cycle test?' Nodding my head 'Not so bad', 'Hmmm.. So…' smiled and reading her beauty from top to bottom 'you are looking damn cute in this rose chudi', 'Hmmm... So...', smiled again and looking straight into her eyes I said, 'so.. You are blushing a lot, Hassini', 'Hmmm.. So..', I said, 'so.. I am in love with you', she was shocked to hear those words from me but her eyes revealed that she was happy to hear those words and we entered our classroom walking in unison, much like a perfect couple entering a party hall! The usual comments about ‘us’ was roaring in the air but I couldn’t hear anything because the endless charm of those most recent 90 seconds had captivated my senses and my heart was skipping beats wondering what could be her response.
'What did she respond?' the old woman said with her eyes wide opened

I promised myself to read a part of this sequel everyday starting today. Late at night, it gave me a wide smile. A budding love story. Though the start was sad but I loved the simplicity of words. Innocence of love at young age reflected very nicely...
