“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”
An old woman goes to a fruit shop to buy an apple that has some breaks on its surfaces. It looks infectious but she consumes it and results in health disorder. Don’t think I am negative in my thoughts, but see…
Does the quote still hold true?

yes it does because now she needs a coroner not a doctor...smiles. nice 55...and magpie!
ReplyDeleteNice twist on an old expression. Poor thing! Hope she doesn't need the coroner that Brian mentioned - lol!
ReplyDeletebrilliant twist,
ReplyDeleteespecially you have combined your 55 with magpie tale...
a master piece,
well done!
:)
it depends, would tums make a difference or does she need pepto bismol?
ReplyDeleteSIS....
ReplyDeleteThe old adage actually means, if you eat ONE apple every day, you will never need a Doctor to come and treat you for constipation!!
But I loved your take on the quote

I really like the play off the old adage.
ReplyDeleteThat depends... did she eat one apple EVERY DAY preceding her bad apple day? If not, she didn't follow the adage correctly, and thus did not disprove it.
ReplyDeleteQuite an interesting 55!
P.S. - I love apples!
They never said what kind of doctor. Cute 55.
ReplyDeleteWell, they were assuming followers of that philosophy would have some common sense, which isn't so common...
ReplyDeleteLove how you combined magpie and 55! At first I thought I was at the wrong post ;-)
ReplyDeleteFunny stuff and great 55.

ReplyDeleteWell, look what eating the bite of an apple did to Eve - a little malady isn't so bad.
ReplyDeleteshe is thinking of extending her life as well as saving money?
ReplyDeleteit did not keep the doctor away? but i think not all apples with small rot could get you ill and die!
nice one dear!

I think you would have to question whether it still holds true, with all that's sprayed on our food these days.
ReplyDeleteAlthough a blemished one probably didn't receive the spray. Food for thought.
Doctor, Doctor
ReplyDeletegive me the news
She got a bad case
of the apple blues.
And she may never read Doctor Zhivago again? :)
What a wonderful combination of all those, 55, magpie....great poem!
ReplyDeleteif she had just washed the apple she would not have gotten sick...or needed a coroner!
ReplyDeleteNice magpie!
What a question to ponder. But I do agree, if she now needs a mortician, she has kept the doctor away.

@ Kavisionz
ReplyDeleteThank you so much... Even I love apple but nowadays the scenario has changed..
--Someone Is Special--
The other day when I was having an apple, I thought of the same thing that its not really the fresh apple that I'm eating. This is the fact of today which you haven't missed writing on.
