The Mystery

Isha, my better half, woke me up with a sweet kiss to make a Sunday the beautiful Sunday. I quickly went through the “The Hindu” sipping the coffee that she prepared minutes ago. “Wow! I love this title,” Isha screamed, as I was going through Sachin’s new world record. She pulled me from my hand and said, “Sid, by the way when did you pen down this?” I peeped in to my laptop screen to check out what she is talking about, “UNDER THE SUN ON A MOONLESS NIGHT”, “What, I never penned down this” I puzzled, “Never…?” she puzzled… “Don’t try to fool me,” I grinned and went back to the pavilion.

“Did I try to fool you?” She said with a little moist in her eyes, “This is not the right time to fight Isha,” I said, “This is the time to make love, I mean sex… Is it?” she frowned, “Hmm don’t spoil this night, Isha, I didn’t mean that,” I said, She kept silent for the next ten minutes. “Dear, I didn’t pen down anything yesterday night, I was with you the whole night,” I said, She blinked for a minute and said, “Yup, I did shutdown the lappy right,” she puzzled, “Let us sleep idiot,” I said and slept hugging her tightly.

The worst job on this earth is to be an IT professional, the modern day saints who gave up their life, family and everything just for the sake of the dreadful word: deadline. After three days of continuous hectic work, I went back home to spend time with her. “Tik… tik...” I knocked the door at eleven in the night. She opened the door, “So do you remember that you have a wife?” She frowned, “Hey angel… This is not my mistake,” I tried to score husband points with the word angel. I made her cool down, ate and slept.

I opened my tired eyes with her sweet pat on my back, “Hey I am on leave dear,” I said and slept in split seconds. It was around two when I properly woke up from my sleep, “Isha, switch on the laptop,” I said, in a minute she screamed, “Sid, did you notice this?” pointing her finger towards laptop. I peeped in and was shocked to see an unsaved word document open with a half-typed poem,”What the ...?” I screamed. This time I took it serious as I checked the creation time of the word document and found that to be last Saturday 00:00 that made me to shiver as I remember closing the document without saving it.



“Enough Sid, stop playing like this”, she cried, “Idiot, how can anyone shutdown the system with unsaved document and that too it was created a week before, Not even Microsoft owner could do it,” I said, her look conveyed as if she has seen a ghost, “Ghost don’t tell me that”, I said, “No... No... It must be a ghost,” she said firmly, I shouted at her to stop her shiver thinking of ghost and later did the repair work.

“This is too delicious,” I said completing my dinner, “I am still confused about that document,” she said, “Crap…” I said and took her to modern day God to search about “Mystery of Ghost”.



I found a website called http://www.ghost-mysteries.com/, read about ghosts, medium and the dark truth after death. In addition, many techniques to chat with ghost or to converse with ghost. One of them being the board technique, other via medium they use to convey the message they want to say to this world and the last is the camera technique to find out what it wants actually. “Why don’t we use our handy cam to find it out?” she suggested and I too accepted the idea. I took the chair and made the setup in such a way that if someone sits near the laptop would be caught clearly in the video. We made sure that we have to sort out this by tomorrow morning.

“Did you find any more words added to that unsaved word document?” she said, “Nope,” “Hmm, did you see anything in the video,” she said, “Nothing dear," and showed the video to her, “Absolutely nothing but what is that smoke,” she paused, “Nothing that may be because of the climate,” I said and diverted her fear. “But…”, “Crap… shut down your system and let us get ready,” I said and resumed our daily routine. “It may be ghost, or may not be but what could be that smoke?” I repeatedly questioned myself in my long and sour ride to office.

“I had to return to the home. Isha is alone, a ghost is there in my home and I don’t know the motive of that ghost and why did it come to our home?” I mumbled and my instincts said I should go but my BOSS said that I could not leave the office, as this Monday is the deadline. It also conveyed that until Monday I could not leave the office. I decided to call my Koibitou, I mean Isha… “Ish...” I said, “Don’t prepare food for me as I won’t be coming to home today. Is that you want to tell me right?” she said sadly, I kept silent, “I am fine with that…,”she said, “Hmm why you don’t try to capture video tonight?” “But laptop is with you right?” she said, “Why don’t you fix the camera just like that to check that smoke is nothing,” I shrugged, “I will do that…,” she said and I romanced a little over the phone after all I can do that only working as a software professional.

My wristwatch conveyed that I did not speak with Isha for the past twenty-four hours as it showed the time as 27th November 2010, 09:00 PM. I decided to take a break for two or three hours, and called Isha. “Dear, did you check that video?” “Nope, I had a lot of work. Have to check it,” she said, “Why don’t you check it out now?” “I will do that and will you call you”, she said and hung the call. After an hour she called me, conveyed that she could not find even the smoke and that made me happy. “Cool,” I said and continued romancing with her over the phone.

I rushed home to spend my Sunday evening with my Koibitou. As soon as I entered my home, I hugged her tightly to show my affection. “Wife is for Sundays is it?” “Nope, wife is my life but safe will fill only if I sacrifice my life,” I said, “Do you need dinner,” “I am having it,” she moaned and I continued. We slept hugging each other until I heard her scream like a banshee. “Ish… Isha…” she was speechless as her eyes conveyed fear and her body shivered. For the first time in my life, I saw my keyboard typed automatically by some invisible thing; I too screamed with Isha and fell unconscious.

“Isha, did you read this poem,” she peeped in from the bed, to read the poem penned down there. “Wow! This is truly beautiful poem and by the way what is Blogaton?” she said, “Let me ask the God,” searched Google, and found Blogaton to be Blog-a-ton, an online marathon of bloggers; where they decide and they write. It is due on December 4th and the topic is supposed to Mystery. “Good, who is this Someone Is Special? A Ghost?” “I could not find anything-fruitful Isha, may be a Mysterious Ghost?”, she thought for a second and said, “Sid, Why don’t we pen down this experience as “The Mystery” and publish it for Blog-a-ton with this mystery writer poem,” “We will do that as “Someone Is Special – The Mystery Writer”, to fulfill his mysterious wish". She smiled, I said, “May be this mystery may continue or” “may not be if the wish gets fulfilled,” she added. “Keep smiling as this Mystery Writer may remain as a Mystery Forever,” I said, she kept on wondering what the reason could be
