As a cherry on the cake, January 18 marked the celebration of love and togetherness—my 11th wedding anniversary. We decided to make it special by exploring VR Chennai, where we immersed ourselves in shopping, delightful cuisines, and the joy of being together. The malls echoed with laughter, and every moment was a cherished memory in the making.

In the spirit of Bhogi and Thai Pongal, our home radiated with the warmth of tradition and gratitude. Pongal, a multi-day Hindu harvest festival celebrated by Tamils, marks a time of abundance and thanks. Dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, Pongal corresponds to Makar Sankranti and is observed over three or four days.

The festival unfolds with Bhogi, a day of cleansing and discarding the old to make way for the new. Surya Pongal follows, where we express gratitude for the bountiful harvest with a ritualistic preparation of the Pongal dish. Maatu Pongal celebrates the essential role of cattle in agriculture, and Kaanum Pongal concludes the festivities with family outings and reunions.

This Week That Was - Week 01, 2024

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Few Miles! I am planning to restart "This Week That Was," again. This is where I share bits and pieces that made my week uniquely special. Buckle up for a roller coaster of family adventures, professional insights, and the excitement of what lies ahead..

Family Chronicles: Home Alone (Almost) The biggest twist in our family saga this week was the pilgrimage trip undertaken by my parents. This left the home front with just the Fantastic Four—my wife, two kids, and yours truly. With a strategic time-off from work, I transformed into Mr. Mom, taking charge of the household with gusto. From idly-dosa breakfasts to impromptu living room dance parties, (obviously some reels shot as well) we turned the daily routine into a delightful adventure.

While the kids were on a quest to discover the ultimate pillow fort design, I became the reigning champion of bedtime storytelling. The house echoed with laughter, occasional chaos, and the sweet symphony of family togetherness. And guess what? We survived, and more importantly, we thrived!

Work Chronicles: Awaiting New Horizons On the professional front, the week was a simmering cauldron of anticipation. Exciting news is on the horizon, with the promise of a significant lift in my role at work. The prospect of new challenges and responsibilities has my excitement levels through the roof. It's incredible how a bit of knowledge can open up new vistas of creativity and strategic thinking.

Looking Ahead: Gratitude and Excitement As the week draws to a close, I find myself in a reflective mood. Gratitude fills my heart for the precious moments shared with my family, the supportive environment at work, and the opportunity to expand my knowledge. Despite the miles traveled for prayers at our Family God and Native Temple, these moments brought us closer, enriching the tapestry of our familial bonds. Our attempt at sharing our family narrative through the YouTube channel "Nalkudil" marked a new beginning, though personal priorities restricted our contributions. Nevertheless, the year has been a tapestry woven with threads of love and connection.

Professional Symphony: Navigating the Digital Landscape In the professional arena, the year unfolded with exciting prospects in the dynamic realm of the digital workplace. As a senior business development manager, I have been steering the ship of a transformative Generative AI-based experience project. The successful completion of GenAI for Project Managers and earning the title of a Certified ChatGPT Expert through courses from PMI and BlockChain Council further underscored the strides made in 2023. Workwise, it has been a year marked by achievements, growth, and resilience.

Passion Projects: A Pause in the Narrative Regrettably, the pages of my passion projects, including the creation of literary works and the curation of YouTube content, saw fewer updates this year. While the plots for "Coffee Date 3 and 4" remain ready, the ticking clock and pressing responsibilities hindered their completion. However, with a hopeful heart, I look forward to reigniting the spark of creativity in the canvas of 2024.

Looking Ahead: Navigating New Horizons Peering into the horizon of 2024, my goals include ascending to a higher rank in the professional arena, allocating precious moments to my children, and breathing new life into my YouTube channels, "Nalkudil" and "Best O Best." Additionally, I embark on a journey of self-love, with a commitment to elevating my fitness levels and managing anger more effectively.
